Both dudes MUST be ardent fans of each other... & recognize the proven artistry of one another. This was a near-perfect duet. Cool to see Sting be so modest.

This is bloody brilliant. That voice would cut through ice.The last notes are more a counter tenor and not falsetto as most pop singers do.As Sting says "What a voice"!!Yes indeed. This guy is a genius.

Not to nitpick but he sings to well for this song. The beauty of Sting (As well as Prince, Alicia Keys, Usher, Janet Jackson, Bobby Brown, and Madonna) is he's not a great singer, but his voice and style makes the song. This gentleman would've been better off impersonating Sting and refrained from hitting too many notes. This is the ultimate breakup song. It's supposed to have edge. The singer is trying to be Jewel, when he should be more Alanis Morrisette.

The “echo/reverb” sound that’s missing is ANDY SUMMERS’s guitar textures from the Police original. No one can replace Summers’s style. Sting has tried for decades but the original Police chemistry can’t be duplicated. That said, what a talent that Rufus W is!! ❤

this version is a correct version! but, the studio version and the dynamics of Copeland's drum are surely better because, Copeland, Phil Collin and Bill Brufford have a few things in common !! English and American drummers have a different emphasis on the snaire drum. if you listen to the snare in the studio and the dynamics and the drum passes! you fall down from your chair 😃. That's in my opinion, that's a big track that Copeland plays in this wonderful song The Police in the studio for the drums. excuse me for my English!!! I am Canadian Quebecois🤪 I love Vinnie ….

Rufus sounds great here, unsurprisingly; I concur it's nice, and a mark of respect to see MR. Sting defer to his guest, take a back seat. The only surprise was seeing Sifa singing along rapt and ecstatic before returning to her more usual contemplative trance during the tune, then resuming singing. Cool. A fan, hmm? ;>D

Great comment about Sting’s high tones and Rufus’s low tones singing the same words and the same melody and at the same pitch. Rufus takes it on to the next level IMO.

Why do I feel like most people apparently don't understand the depth of Sting's writing?! Could it be because they don't really dive into it in their reviews?! In “Wrapped Around Your Finger” Sting goes from Greek Mythology to European Folklore to Biblical Symbology. Amazing song; Incredible writing by Sting!!!

Gotta say I'm with Sifa on this one... Even though this version is unique and masterful in the parts of the original it maintains while adding a new 'flavour'; the 'atmosphere' and ambience as well as the dynamics are elements of the original that I wouldn't mind betting were nigh on near impossible for Summers, Copeland and Sting to replicate live themselves; which puts the original a tad ahead by the width of a nasal hair in my book... but as much as some people love to walk away from a live performance talking about how it was "just like the album"; and as a musician it's great to play live on stage stuff that could have been the recording session - I'm sure you guys know that feeling of playing your stuff to the kind of level where you're as much the audience at your own performance when it really comes together... at the same time, it can be equally as rewarding to take something you know so well to 'a different place', and find some new juice to squeeze from a lime you may have felt had no more juicy tang left to provide. "Spicing" things up, doesn't necessarily mean turning one's back on what's already been achieved... it's more like taking a different route on the way into your favourite destination than the one some people might prefer was taken; or even prefer over the old tried and true, even if the destination is still the same, just arrived at from a perspective that's not the one that one was used to. I gather if I'd been in the audience (like it looked Sifa would have loved to have been, singing along and all!!) I'd have let the sounds envelope me and take me to an all new place the original hadn't... The sound was certainly very spacious! I suppose it's all just another aspect of the beauty of music - or art in general... Thanks for another reaction that entertained and clearly elicited reactions amongst your viewers. 👍👍

I prefer the original version by «The Police» is really magic with Andy Summers sonic guitar and Stewart Copeland oustanding beats, the best one to a reaction. Regards from Peru. 🤘
