Bruv Rugby and League games are still looking like Ps4 games, need to get rid of these australian game developers , and let big companies make them like EA and 2K otherwise 20-30 years from now well basically have the same gameplays, pretty shit if u asked me

When France had the ball, 9 took a while to get to the ruck but when they’re not crowded , noticed that off ball, sometimes the runners are running lines and sometimes the forwards run in pods of 3…so at that’s going for them lol

I feel like Big Ant backed the wrong horse. Rugby Challenge 4 had better free flowing rugby and they could've improved passing/offloading, rucks, and set piece.

It's good to see analysis videos that's fairly criticising and also deconstructing the issues with the game. Big Ant are going for gold with this game, which is why I hope it smoothes out all of the bumps by the time that the release date comes around

It literally looks like a ps4/ps3 game. You put it up against Rugby 08 and Rugby 08 wins on game play and also looks. How can a game look and play this bad in 2024?? Also, does Big Ant ever actually test the games before release??

If any of developers watching this, i got some bugs when opposte player called for a mark. the screen got stuck and no way to continue playing. ended up restarting the game

lol this is where we at guys, the mechanics haven't changed at all. It's going to take somebody that loves rugby and who just happen to be a developer that will probably have to code it in their spare time as a hobby. For us to get something decent

I’m very much all about gameplay first and foremost. The rest can come later. Rugby is so complicated as it is, but they need an easy controller figuration like rugby08

There's so much to be done with the gameplay. It feels like they want the fans to make the game for them

Big problem with the positioning is that no-one starts moving towards the breakdown before the tackle animation is complete. Forwards should already be getting ready to bind as soon as the animation starts, whether the tackle gets completed or not. Same with the 9, he should be hovering. This would create gaps too, because defenders will be sucked in by big carriers rather than being able to stand back in a 13 man line. This is all basic stuff you learn playing juniors and it shows the problem with trying to retrofit this engine.

The support players are too deep when the ball is passed from the ruck.. Players should already be in formation waiting for the ball when the ruck is about to form. Also, when the ball carrier is running the support players runs away and not running the attacking properly. Then you end up with unrealistic wide passes.

It's a shame world rugby don't want to invest in a video game, imo whoever hits on a game that actually resembles real union or league will get a huge boost to fan numbers, presence in the global sporting arena and money in to the sport, neither league or union are close imo, rugby 08 is the closest either sport has got and it's almost 20 years old 😂 I really think they need motion capture for rucks/mauls/scrums so you can have dynamic interactions rather than prebaked animations, you can then adjust the tempo of the game, gameplan and how many players you want to commit especially in ruck situations, I realize these things require money and resources, that's why I said world rugby need to invest significantly or it just won't happen imo. Just some observations from someone who has played both since he was 5 and that has been gaming since he was 3

Can one of these comapany's just pay EA Sports for the Madden 08 engine so we can make a decent rugby game lol. The running since rugby 08 has been so bad. We need full control where we can make a player run angles/step/change direction like a normal human would lol. Union/league games now have a bad habit of being so stiff/rigid which makes no sense with the tech we have now. Rugby 08 was on the right track. If they had made an 09 or 10 on ps4 it wouldve been a game changer. EA gave up too soon

It looks like Rugby League Live 4 (2017). How can they justify this standard of game after all these years. It's embarrassing. As for the price on release, the idea that they will sell it for the same price as EAFC or NBA2K is absolute robbery. Someone needs to buy out Big Ant Studio's and create Rugby Union; Rugby League; Cricket; and AFL games that reflect the true to life version of the sport.

Man this is so underwhelming. Graphics look like 2 console generations ago and the gameplay, doesnt even match up to Rugby 08. Big Ants not a big enough company to do a rugby game justice. Only hope is if EA or 2K decide to make one, despite those companies slimy business practices they'd do a good job.

I stopped watching when you said “Big Ant can do photogrammetry and game play at the same time”. They can’t. Look at AFL23. Out for months, still missing its biggest feature and plays like a turd. Look at cricket 24, out for months, players still looks average, plays like a turd. The pricks at BA just lie and lie and lie.

Focusing on gameplay is paramount there's absolutely no point putting effort into what the players face looks like if the gameplay is crap
