Some outstanding players on both sides. Incredible test match played at breakneck speed, Reid,McCaw, Nonu, Jane ( forgot how good he was!) And others. On the England side Manu obviously, a very young Owen Farrell, Ben youngs (both still playing!) Tom Wood had an excellent game if I remember correctly, good stuff.

Funny thing is a number of AB‘s played pretty well. Reid was everywhere so too McCaw, Savea was never a great all-rounder but scored a brace, Vito was a fine power-sub, Corey Jane had a stormer in attack but didn‘t show in defence, same with Nonu not quite 100%, then there’s Israel Dagg who had a howler.. and the forwards were bossed big-time when push came to shove.

I remember when the All Blacks scored a couple of tries just before halftime to trail 14-15 and thinking that they’d overrun England in the 2nd half, but it didn’t happen though. Instead the English took it up a couple more notches and played brilliant running rugby and scored a deserved win. It was a great performance.

If NZ had won that day it would of been an unbeaten season for them . England were inconsistent that year the previous two weekends they had lost to Australia and South Africa on the bounce. It was the end of a long season for the ABs and in the end it was one game too many. In saying that they didn't play too badly. The next time the two teams met it was a 3-0 test series win to the ABs.

yea Ireland fan here i will never forget that game it really was the type of game that in all seriousness it was over before a ball was kicked the response to the Haka was amazing and i think was a mistake World Rugby banning that the game itself the Score did not represent that game The All Blacked were completely wiped off the field would have been a shutout had it not been for a very late mistake when the game was already over In my years of Rugby i have never seen the All Blacks destroyed that convincingly before hahah i will admit i didn't watch the RWC Final because i didn't think South Africa stood a chance after watching that semi final

It’s going to sound like excuses but not at all , England were great , Nz were at the end of a long season ( last game ) and a long unbeaten run ( was it 18 straight ?) ran into a fired up England and I think a few Allblacks had their minds on their end of season break . Pants pulled down .

Well we lost that game back in 2012 & 2019 World Cup. History says 2 games won by England in the last 17 encounters, 42 games played with 8 victories for England thats not a bad record against the All Blacks and most of these games were on English soil cause they've yet to do what Ireland did and beat us on our home turf. With the worse start to the season anyone could remember, the New Zealand public were unforgiving in blasting the All Blacks performance and calling for Ian Fosters head. We are our own worse critics. To their credit after losing the Test series to Ireland, backed up with loses to South Africa & 1st ever lost to Argentina, within the week won the return matches against both and both test matches against Australia lucky to win the 1st Test. I can only think the lack of our domestic & disrupted Super Rugby season in 2020/21 season really did have an effect on everyone especially in lockdown in New Zealand. But shit happens and no one offering excuses in the Southern Hemisphere we will bring our best against England with what we have, one more game will bring the curtain down on a pretty eventful year. I'm backing the All Black to win, any score will do.

I did say the last 17 games and I did include them in the 8 victories against the All Blacks. From 43 games played now with the draw the other day added to make it 2 draws between us. Head to head England have won 8 times, with 2 draws from 43 games against the All Blacks. I felt we lost the last game, so you could almost claim it as a win, but it don't work like that. Still we leave the Northern Hemisphere tour unbeaten this year, but still, 8 wins, 4 loses with one draw our worst season in awhile, a shade disappointed. Big improvers Argentina & Italy, Best Teams Ireland & France.
@sealark1719
@sealark1719 2 жыл бұрын
That's fair comment and the All Blacks have and likely will always be "the team to beat" in international rugby. My own country Wales has lost every head to head since 1953 and the most recent game between the two showed no sign of that trend ending anytime soon 🏉

Funny thing it was never reported in the UK but the whole all black squad were wiped out with a stomach virus the week before that game and some were in doubt to be able to play. You could see they didn’t have the energy to keep up with England and were blown away in the second half.

@@WeLhOOse and it gets even worse, AWJ and Dan Biggar’s gen is the last wholesome one for the next while. The WRU f**ked up the academy and basically from now until the 2030‘s there will be a massive depth shortage of players no where near good enough to fill that void. Jac Morgan, LRZ and Rio Dyer are some of the few exceptions (along with Christ Tshiunza & Theo Cabango). This makes the hole Wales are in next to impossible to get out, the one silver lining is that no matter which welsh side turns up it‘s usually hell trying beat them at the principality stadium. They might struggle to be an 80min side, but for most of the game it can be an armwrestle. It’s why Nz are the one exception in being able to hammer them at home..
