@@JoshHall936 sorry, but it doesn't work like that. SBW gave a similar penalty try against the French when he slapped the ball out. Because of his actions, the TMO has to completely remove him from the equation, aka he wasn't even there in the first place, in which case a try would probably have been scored. I would argue, however, that the slap in this case the benefit should go to the defender as it wasn't a clear slap to intentionally kill the ball rather. My view anyway..

The Edinburgh player ran past the point at which he could've caught the ball. Intentional or not he's not in a position to catch it whereas Dan Evans was. Unless you're seeing another foul, the first one was good, as not only was it a professional foul, it was a professional foul to prevent a try. 10 and a penalty try. The second one I'm also a bit baffled by. You can't just stiff somebody in the face like that and not see red. That last one -- how about a knock on on the reception though? eldric 10.2 a player must not intentionally knock, place, push or throw the ball with his arm or hand into touch, touch-in-goal, or over the dead ball line. Sanction: penalty kick. Nigel determined he intentionally knocked it out with his left arm. Because the offending player committed the penalty with a try scoring opportunity, the player is “removed” from the play, so Nigel decided that a try would have occurred if the player who committed the penalty were not there.
