I'm struggling with the stability argument here. Ireland have had lots of change since the WC. They have just dealt with it better.

The new players really added to the weekend. future looks bright. Izekor, roots and mccarthy had immense games.

I add another - conversions kicks matter. One missed Welsh conversion was the difference between a famous comeback win and a valiant defeat...

The 6 Nations rarely lets you down. Even if it's not your own team prospering, this opening weekend was a classic. England won, but Italy made a great show of themselves. Ireland dominating France, but not taking anything for granted was a great game. Wales and Scotland was a real surprise. A tournament that keeps on giving. Thanks mate.

I'm an Ireland supporter but dang I was on my feet watching the second half of the Scotland/Wales game. I honestly thought Wales were going to pip it at the end with a drop field goal or a penalty. It was an amazing second half for sure. At least the boys walked off that field with their dignity intact - unlike France.

Ireland put 4 tries on France last year with dupont and 15 men.

Just impossible to see how this Lions team won’t be dominated by Irish.

One takeaway: Finn is not a captain. Blamed his players for the second half - the capt should lead the players and take responsibility.

Not rly related to the video but I had the idea today. An ‘ultra power’ England team which is focused on gaining the physical advantage. As South Africa demonstrated just being massive and bullying teams is quick route to success. Now I’m not sure this the best England team, and it’s super harsh on some rly good players. But I would be interested to see how a team like this went. 1. Marler 2. George 3. Stuart 4. George Martin 5. Chessum 6. Mario Itoje 7. Ethan roots 8. Chandler Cunningham south 9. Mitchell 10. Fin Smith 11. Feyi Wabosa 12. Lawrence 13. Freeman 14. Daly 15. Steward This team would sacrifice some pace but if u can dominate set peice in particular line out with those 5 jumping options, I think it might be a route to success for England even if it ain’t pretty.

Not sure about the stability argument - maybe more nuance here - to your 3rd point newbies performed very well in stable teams. Ireland are European no1 and have been for -5 years, should be winning the 6N/Grand Slamming - that’s not knew news. It makes losing another QF even harder to understand…. My main takeaway is that England have the worst attack in the 6n, and given that they changed their defence coach, not attack, they have to layer on more variation to compete.

If Ireland can turn over England a slam is on the cards for sure. Wales play the first half like the did in the second half they would've trashed the Scots. Italy still struggling.

Six Nations is one game at a time. Ireland has a system and all of the guys have been part of it for a while. Losing JGP or another centre or wing and Ireland could come under pressure.

Economists have spoken in the past about the Double-Irish. Well, there could well-be a Double-Irish back-to-back Grand Slams, Senior & Under 20's Unbelievable.

Ireland U20 are already on back to back Grand Slams. If they do it again this year that's their third in a row.

Scotland showed why they will never be 6nations champions on Saturday even with their star studded team. Ireland were phenomenol. England i think will settle in to the 6nations reasonably well.

Some inconsistences in your thinking here, you're cherry picking a bit, not least in entirely ignoring that while England had a new defensive coach, Italy had a new head coaching ticket. Scotland are the try threat? Having not picked up a bonus point try against one of the single worst Welsh performances in living memory the first half? And then not firing a single shot in the second while shipping 4 tries when the Welsh sparked to life. Oh and Sexton was a hell of a tackler, too brave for his own good half the time, so not sure how you think Crowley improves on him there.

New Zealand showed how the Ireland team can be got at. Short contestable kicks had them unstuck and sitting off the 10 then coming with speed after the 10 releases it also had them turn into a pretty blunt attack by the end of the game. Says a lot about how good Ireland are that teams will probably be forced to play to their weaknesses in order to beat them. Most coaches would rather focus on being good at their game but Ireland seem to need some special treatment right now

Scotland are overrated. To narrowly avoid losing to a Welsh squad full of debutants and inexperience is embarrassing

Do what? Gatland was responsible for picking players who should have been nowhere near the squad, and the gameplan was all his, it was only when the players ripped up the gameplan that things changed, this fawning over him is embarrassing, he should own that first half.

nz won by a score, and no world cup - what jealousy and lack of sportmanship of the nz supporters, as always. We did not wim the world cup so lets change the rules again - typical loser nz attitude - they will never be like SA
