As a NZer!, (and a female too it must be said!) Of all the rugby podcasts and channels I watch, The Bok Office stands out as the best. Of course I enjoyed this episode, with the in-depth discussion about our team, and you are right --- England lost that match due to their top 2 inches rather than us defeating them convincingly. But what elevates The Bok Office in my opinion, is the caliber of its hosts. Their intelligence, fairness, and respectfulness make for insightful discussions, one of the many reasons why we respect and hold South Africa in such high regard. Wishing the Springboks the best of luck in the North. Up the Southern Hemisphere! 🖤🤍💚💛

Great show lads and Nick Mallett was a fantastic guest. A weekend of rugby to savour kicking off with Ireland v ABs - this will be really close but Ireland probably favourites to reinforce their 1 ranking.Strong squad plus experienced coaching team just gives them the edge imho. As for Boks v Scotland it will be a match which SA power and physicality will give them the platform for success. As a Scot I just look at the Bok forwards with huge envy - the strength in depth is amazing and now they have added some attacking flair they are an even more dangerous side. We have not had a forward pack which other nations fear for what seems like decades and are therefore doomed to struggle against the top teams . So probable wins for all home nations bar Scotland

England fan but love listening to these guys and their opinion of the games, i think they're on a whole very accurate. I didn't go to the game this time i had no idea tickets were £160. Even sadder than this was the fact that the game wasn't even available on free tv. A ENGLAND game at HOME you would expect it to be free and available to everybody at home to watch they put the game was behind a paywall. It wasn't even on Sky Sports, which is a popular channel in the UK because they have alot of live sports available, it costs £34.99 but you get some value for money because you can watch rugby, football, f1, golf and other sports. But this England game they didn't even show on Sky Sports, they put it on another channel called TNT Sports which is £30.99 a month... really pathetic. I don't know who's idea it is but it's very wrong. They sell out our stadium to a German insurance company Allianz which is suppose to benefit England then put the games behind a pay pall.

Love Nick Mallet! Also, I do like the Haka. I just think both teams need to treat the situation with respect. We want New Zealand to come over to Ellis Park and do the Haka for example. But its also a privilege for them that they are allowed to do it on international land. The crowd should be allowed to sing as loud as they want and get behind their own team. We don't need NZ to come over and be too comfortable. I also enjoy it when teams challenge it respectfully as England have done a couple of times. Makes for a great spectacle.

The 20min red is a crock. Schalk is right - the issue is that the red threshold is too low. Keep the red as it is and stop handing it out for non-malicious mistakes. That way the really naughty boys get properly punished, and the game benefits from less reds
@JohnTerblanche-l1rКүн бұрын
If wr says a player cant go head first, like props do in the red zone, the game is over as it is. The whole reasons of head first is to get low gravety to make more meters. This has been happening since dawn of rugby, go watch 95' wc and you'll see this. Players purposely do this cause they know it will be harder for opposition to properly stop them and their momentum. Damian D.A does this tactic when going for a crash ball to make more meters. WR honestly needs to calm down, all the new changes has given us a nice fast spectacle now. But you cant take the physicality out of rugby, you'll never see this in boxing, yet they hit the shitw out of one another. Rugby is a contact sport just accept it.

Guys, I have a question, if its all about player safety and the tackler has the responsibility to avoid head contact, why is there no responsibility on the ball carrier to avoid head contact? So many times theres head contact due to the ball carrier changing levels or direction last second thus making it dangerous for the tackler? Now in saying that, I do no want MORE red cards by officiating that, but surely if player safety is the issue, it should be reffed both ways?

Regarding the red card everyone talks about the 20 min no one acknowledges that the player doesn’t play and the impact that has on the bench. It still penalises the team. But at least now the game is a little more competitive.

Don't you read newspapers? Ted Hill has been banned. As a neutral, I think the weakness lies with the support team rather than the talent on the field. As to "they should have won", that isn't really defensible, is it?
