Poor analysis from JK talking about Ireland missing Sexton. Ireland have played a full six nations campaign and two games against South Africa without him.
@runforrestrun19652 сағат бұрын
It still holds true though as they still are missing Sexton. They haven’t found a like for like yet, just a replacement. May take some time to get a comparable replacement
@LarryLoudini2 сағат бұрын
@@runforrestrun1965 Are we? We won 5 of those 7 games and Crowley’s generally played very well. Sexton’s one of our best players but we didn’t win every game with him, including the last two QFs against you guys. There is great respect for the NZ team in Ireland. Rugby has grown over here. 10/15 years the IRFU invested big into schools and clubs. Before this, rugby had a very small player base. It's still nothing like SA or NZ player base, but it's definitely going in the right direction. Hopefully this rivalry will last for many more years to come. With just over 200 professional players and to be beating the giants of rugby regularly is brilliant for rugby.. It's great for the game.. I'll be in the Aviva cheering on Ireland. Then having a few pints with my pals from NZ. Win , lose or draw. Bring it on Baby. 😊
@Zacaryquack50 минут бұрын
It's on the decrease here in NZ the country side is still big on rugby but the city's are decreasing in numbers a few clubs I know have had to ditch Prems teams different grades together as they don't have the player bases not having enough first grade players is a problem so Prems Players having to drop down grades and play seniors C's or bs instead

So JK predicts Ireland to win before the tour starts but that awful performance last week has convinced him to go for the ABs now? Hard to take his punditry seriously.

NZ have lost the majority of their games by having a poor final quarter. Last week showed that they can play the full 80. This may have influenced his decision.

@@murup4R4 Not really though. England removed their best player and then missed two kicks in the last two mins. That didn’t have much to do with NZL
@murup4R43 минут бұрын
@robertswaine204 NZ put the pressure on and got points in the last 20. That's been one of their weak points this year. Smith wouldn't have saved England from that try and sideline conversion. Yes England missed their chance but the allblacks haven't fought back like that in a while. Also Robinson made a mistake as well by subbing Telea and putting Mackenzie on the wing. Luckily Barrett got injured and they brought Telea back on and put Mackenzie to 10 which lead to a better attack. So don't keep crying about Smith.

Jeff gets it wrong again! Surprise Surprise? No! Ireland went from serial wooden spoon winners in the 90s, then the IRFU started turning it around through the late 90s early 2000s with investment in the school system and player pathways, improved year on year (winning club rugby comps, and 6 nations in late 2000s early 2010s) that continued up to that 2016 win. Lots of people deserve their due credit in the IRFU, not just 2 people being some kind of gods Jeffrey. Outside of WCs... Ireland continue getting better since 2016 and after Joe has gone.
@runforrestrun1965Сағат бұрын
Joe Schmit was really the telling factor. For years his well drilled teams lifted Irish rugby to repeated wins and against the big teams. Followed by his able coach replacement who has continued the success. The rest has come from this, kids now wish to emulate their heroes. Getting the coaching right is always the best pathway. Witness the turnaround of the SA team over the last few years with their coach now. He reversed their decline and set up new coaching structures. I hope Joe can do his magic with the Wallabies, but does he have the drive as hes getting older now.
@colingibson5966Сағат бұрын
@runforrestrun1965 sorry Joe improved ireland yes, but my point is there was a huge body of work done and success before him. Joe inherited the best prepared irish players ever, at the point he came on board. Then added more to them. This idea that time started with Joe is just not fact.

I've watched a lot of NZ rugby shows and pundits since the Ioane C U Next Tuesday revelations (which he never denied btw). Not one pundit has ever dealt with the central accusation of what Ioane said, after the QF match was done and dusted. The "don't miss your flight" was acceptable banter ..... but the foul mouthed, low rent, personalized slur, after the whistle had blown in what was Sextons last ever game, is continually swept under the carpet by NZ pundits, as if they're embarrassed about it (which they should be). This game is too close to call, yet all 6 pundits on this show think NZ are a sure thing? And many NZ-ers think we're the arrogant ones who are primarily responsible for the "niggle" and "spice"? I hope it's a great game and that the better side on the night wins, and wins graciously. I'd be a critic of POM's brand of sledging by the way, and I'd hate to see a victorious Irish player on Friday night, sink to the levels that Ioane did ... although I know he's not representative of the quality of character of other AB's like the Barrett's. Here's to a great rivalry .... but more importantly, here's to a level of mutual respect before and after the game.

I think people would take this a lot more seriously if the common section weren’t full of sad Africans and New Zealand people holding each other’s hands and trying to kiss each other you can have rivalry and Annie country but her friend you guys are with each other is it really rivalry also you can have immediate rivalries or heat games where things have happened in the run-up. If you didn’t care so much there wouldn’t be so much media coverage I went onto the New Zealand Harold the sports section there’s about seven up-to-date articles written about Ireland who knows what will happen. It’s not black and South African rugby rivalry. Other countries are not getting involved which is actually good for the sport.
