Love my 10-22! Bull barrel and aftermarket stock. It wears a Leupold 2-7X Rimfire scope. No issues, ever. Very accurate with Winchester Power Point 40 gr HP and devastating on rodents! Thanks Doc!

Every time I take mine down then reassemble it I have to zero the scope again, kind of defeats the purpose and convenience of a takedown rifle. Yes the collar is adjusted and tight.

Hey Doc good review. I was hoping to see how the rifle fitted into the case with the scope on it! How close was the power ring to the scope base? I use normal hunting scopes for my 22’s as well but the issue with that focal plain is set at 150 yards but with 22 rifle scopes the are set around 60 yards. At small targets it makes a difference. Maybe an idea for a video for you. Have a good weekend Doc.

I used medium height rings and it barely made it with minimum space but it was fine. I just adjust eyepiece focus at 50 yards. Thanks for the great idea n God bless.

@@vameathunter2771 That power ring looked extremely close in the video but I had faith in ya to make sure it was functioning properly? I had to ask though. Sorry I did miss type and said focal plain but I couldn’t think of the word parallax. Lol. All scopes have a fixed parallax unless if you can adjust your parallax. High power rifle scopes / hunting scopes parallaxs are set at 150 yards. 22 parallax scopes are set at 50 yards. When shooting small animals like gophers or small varmints if your parallax is off you can miss because of it. Group sizes could be affected.

Any thoughts on its ability as a range/target practice gun. Is it ok firing 300-400 rounds down range.

Yes it should be fine, but accuracy might not be so great when barrel gets hot.

Just an opinion, but as a plinker, great and 300-400 is no problem at all. It was never designed to be a target gun and think anyone would be disappointed trying to shoot groups with a non-target gun. For me, no red dot, no scope, just fun open sight shooting / plinking. Bunny hunting in our cold Winters is reserved for a bolt or other manually operated 22.

I would go with carbine version with fixed stock.

I'd go withe takedown. The main reasons are that it comes with a case, it's easy to takedown and assemble and because both sights are on the bbl portion, it won't come out of sight alignment. Lastly, cleaning is easier on a bbl that is separate and can be done from the breech instead of the muzzle. Yes, it's more money but soon the money will be forgotten and you'll have the rifle the rest of your life.

i was looking at some of your videos and noticed some of your rifles have red dot sight while other rifles has a scope on them. what is it on the rifle that determines whether you should mount a red dot sight or scope?

If you want to shoot under 50 yards with 22LR or 9mm and be able to find the target fast with both eyes open, you should go with red dot. But if you want to shoot beyond 75 yards or even 500 yards you should go with scope.
