The stainless steel finish on this revolver is stunning, and it pairs perfectly with the power and history of the .45 Colt round.

My dad rushed to J&G sales in 1998 to buy the Bisley Vaquero, I grew up drooling over it and finally made a deal with him when I was in the army that if I won the Expert Infantryman’s Badge he would give it to me and it was a big inspiration for me so after the ceremony I called and he was so stoked he handed right over. I’ve had it for 10 years now and it’s the only colt clone I own. The color case frame and blued finish is still in excellent condition.

Have to thank you, I retired last year and got into my hobbies put aside for 25 years. I purchased my first single action, a used Ruger old Vaquero and I love it. Started to reload for it and it is something special shooting a single action. Thanks for the push.

Ross Seyfried wrote that article in Guns And Ammo. I bought a 5 1/2 Bisley Vaquero and set it up they way he did and loaded the same load. I shot a 50 caliber inline black powder rifle using XTP 45 cal HP 300 gn in front of 120 gn FFG into the end grain of a large log. It went in 5" and stopped. The Vaquero load went in 8" and I could have reloaded it. The Bisley grip on Rugers is for heavy recoil management.

Bisley is still going strong, although since the pistol ban in the UK in 1997 Bisley is mostly rifle and clay pigeon ranges now.

Great show by coincidence I was shooting at Bisley last week on the sporting clay grounds. Bisley is still in use for rifle and clay shooting , and is still very popular amongst us U.K. shooters. The military are still very present and I believe train Ukraine units there as well.

9:05 Hey Hickok45, I don’t know if you knew this, but the Bisley was the preferred choice for Mexican Revolutionary, Pancho Villa (who was the Robin Hood of Mexico). The reason why was because he had Arthritis in both of his thumbs, which made it difficult for him to cock the hammers on the standard SAA revolvers. The grips on the Bisleys made it easier to cock the hammers on them.

Hi Mr Hickok. Awsome video. And you have a very nice Ruger. And 45 colt is a very good round. I do not have a vicaro. But i do have Ruger blackhawks. And a single 6 22/ 22 mag. A 357. And my favorite my Ruger super Blackhawk hunter 44 mag. My 357, 44 mag are deer hunting machines. Im cooking deer brugers on my grill right now. Taken by my 44 mag. At approximately 60 yrds open sights. I shoot almost all hard cast lead. Blood trail on the last deer was a puddle. God bless . Awsome video.😊

To effectively loosen a holster one can spray the interior with silicone spray. One has to be careful not to use some sprays that say Silicone, but also have oil of some kind as an additional lubricant which will adversely affect a holster. We sprayed all U.S. Border Patrol trainees' holsters with Silicone to decrease the force required to draw the service sidearm.

What are your thoughts on shooting the hot stuff through the smaller frame Vaquero? It is my understanding that I should stick with standard pressure loads in them. The heavy stuff is fine in the older guns with the 2 digit sn prefix. Underwood mentions this on their website. Thank you.
