Tell me about the double spring. Do you need both? Can you have just one? Would one make it easier to pull the slide back? Thanks. I’ll be replacing that rod ASAP.

What is the the failure point on the factory guide rods? Some expensive well know manufacturers use plastic guide rods.
@MessySketcher5 жыл бұрын
Almost unheard of, for a "cheap metal" guide rod to fail, lol besides Ruger has a lifetime warranty on their guns.

after shooting lots of rounds the original rods start to show peening where it contacts the barrel lug. i replaced mine and it's well worth the $15

@@MessySketcher ...and it's not made of cheap pot metal...bad form to down-talk the Ruger part to make their's look good. Either will work a well as the other.

Love what you're doing brother, plan to get a sub2000 from you if I can. My only criticism is that you repeat yourself quite a bit in your videos... "Have to stay within competitive prices" - Said 5 times in the first 3 minutes! Keep it up, good work.

Don't really support aftermarket guys who ...instead of showing the superiority of their product...instead criticize the opposition, in this case a factory part, on how "bad" it is, especially when it's not true. No....the Ruger part is not "a cheap, pot-metal part"....it's of good quality steel and suffers no functional loss over the MCarbo part. The 316 Stainless MCarbo part may be more rust resistant but that's about it. Offers no functional improvement but lambastes the Ruger part.....bad form.

I don't know about "good quality steel".....the ones I have experience with have been very cheap on Rugers and even polymer on Kel-Tecs. A solid piece of high quality stainless steel that is heat treated properly will be significantly stronger and more durable. But we get it....you are one of those Ruger Fan Bois that think they are equal or greater in quality to everything else out on the market including customs....Wilson Combat, Les Baer, Nighthawk, Ed Brown, Springfield Armory Custom Shop etc etc. That is not the case at all and every little bit helps!

@@JohnDoeEagle1 ...let's set the record straight....I'm not a fanboy, I own ONE Ruger, and a host of other brands.....but I don't appreciate any vendor down-grading the factory part he wants to sell instead. He should talk about the goodness of his product, how it's better ( and for what reason) compared to the assumed "deficient" factory part....and not say how bad the competition is.... or the competition's product is. It is common knowledge in "industry", where I have the bulk of my experience....to call something "pot metal" is when it's a zinc casting....like a bath fixture. The carbon steel guide rod as delievered by Ruger ( or any other factory's gun part unless it is known to be a piece of crap), is not a bad part. Heck, even Glock guide rods are plastic and work very well. Folks just like to buy "Aftermarket" because more-often-than-not.....they "fall" for the marketing scheme of the aftermarket seller. No doubt there are excellent quality aftermarket parts made.....but not many are really "better" than factory, except maybe in a few real cases where the argument can be validly made.
