My goal with this series is to see if I can shoot a sub-MOA group in my first 3 shots with common hunting rifles and ammo off of a plastic folding table to replicate a range setup anyone could easily create, and to show what realistic rifle accuracy looks like with common equipment and conditions. Only one group is fired and that is what is measured and shown. More information in the video description.

got that "classic" safety on there. The end of 336's.
@garrettstiles78085 ай бұрын
Mine groups the heavier stuff better for whatever reason but I haven’t gotten sub-MOA out of any load yet. Don’t care: it’s more fun and feels better to shoot than several plasticky bolt guns I’ve got that are sub-MOA.

Iv never had a 3030 that gets sub moa, could just be my experience however.

I’ve done it with my 1980’s Glenfield and particular ammo, it’s not like it’s every group though, done it with this 336 also but I think the stars aligned that day haha, 1.5-2.5” seems a lot more typical

.30-30 is really,REALLY mild recoiling. It seems big if you only have shot 9mm and 5.56 , but it's just a step above 7.62x39 in power. 150 grains @2350-2450ish fps from a 24 inch barrel. 2150-2250ish fps from a 20 inch barrel. It's very easy to learn how to shoot with it .

@@jaypee389 the reason the Leverevolusions work so well is the spitzer type pointed tips. It adds a level of stability no flat faced bullet can. I believe they offer it for reloading.

You can do it with the original JM rifles and hand loads sometimes. If you’re lucky having the 336A the longer version of the rifle.
@bensmith7584 ай бұрын
That's actually not a bad group for that rifle, one it doesn't have a free floated barrel so bench resting isn't the best way to accurately shoot any lever gun, and I've found that all, even the remlins don't really like the 150 grain, try to shoot a group off hand on the bench w 170 grain and I bet you'll have a much better result

Ironically, every Marlin logo Ruger puts on a rifle screams Remington! Marlin commissioned artist Frederick Remington for the original ad based on the painting "his last stand".

So? You can hit medium size game well past the effective range of the cartridge with accuracy like that, and a torso size target from at least 300 yards. Seems fine to me

@@masonoutdoors_masonleather I appreciate you taking the time to engage with me about my query. I am not assuming you took my question as a snide question. I was at the range today shooting my 10/22, AR, and M1A at steel plates at 100 yards. Not easy for me shooting freehand. I prefer to shoot without assistance stabilizing accessories as to practice like I’d shoot in real life. I do see the value of seeing how capable a rifle can be by eliminating the human body error factor.
