That wood in most cases is usually heavier too. But wood imo works better for stabilization where tact appeal is better for a quick draw to first shot. But that’s also dependent on length not just weight.

It’s a good rifle. I think it’s biggest shortcoming is logistical and not performance. You really cannot buy parts from the factory for it. Ruger will not sell you trigger parts for it period, the end. Also, replacement parts generally are not drop in. With an AR I can buy any part I want for spares and almost all parts replacements are an “armorer” level repair as opposed to a gunsmith level repair. But the mini is undeniably cool and really looks good.

Sako Hammerhead , Geco Plus and Brenneke TOG Could you do a Classic test if you find a 6,5 Mannlicher 6,5x54 one day Or a 7x57 Mauser with 175 grain ammo . Difference In Saami and Cip level ammo

My goal with this series is to see if I can shoot a sub-MOA group in my first 3 shots with common hunting rifles and ammo off of a plastic folding table to replicate a range setup anyone could easily create, and to show what realistic rifle accuracy looks like with common equipment and conditions. Only one group is fired and that is what is measured and shown. Why three shots rather than five you might ask? Because most hunting rifles have a magazine that will hold three rounds but many will not hold five, if a Sub-MOA group isn’t achieved in three shots it certainly won’t be in five, amongst other reasons. Firing more than one group would certainly result in both better and worse groups, possibly substantially so, as the human factor is objectively the most variable, thus the “challenge” of seeing what can be done with a single group with no second chance. Sub-MOA and 1-MOA capability as perpetuated by industry is completely unrealistic with common factory hunting rifles and ammo in perpetuity, especially if you’re the average hunter that doesn’t have the opportunity to put more than a handful of boxes down range each year. Can it be done? Absolutely. Is it typical? Absolutely not. More information in the video description.

I'm glad he worked in the phrase "Two World Wars" (he said "Both" but it still counts) since that phrase is required in every video about a 1911

For African game, Jack O'Conner said the 220-grain bullet "makes a real rifle out of the .30-06" and Teddy Roosevelt said it was his "favorite lion medicine".

If you are after deer, it's plenty of penetration and they put deer down right now. If you are after bigger critters, you want the 180 grain Corelokt.

The Glock is better in every way HOWEVER I think a SIG would dominate both that is depending you have enough to buy one, I still love 1911s if they cost less than a Glock then they would be better for a more affordable everyday carry

Thanks for reviewing these sluggers, the 2 3/4 loads are most accurate in my pump benelli . I look forward to you trying the federals and hopefully the hornady american whitetail rifled slugs also. Federal makes a copper plated 'deep penetrator' load but unfortunately they load it to a lower velocity and it has not been accurate in my guns. Your ammo tests are very informative and entertaining, appreciate you donating your time, money, and shoulder.
