Bought an all black model a couple of months ago. The loading gate was really hard to open. I added some oil and just kept working it. It smoothed out nicely. As far as shooting, it is a dream! I just traded my Son my Marlin 60 w/ scope (tack driver) for his Ruger Wrangler (Black)! He has had the pistol for about a week, I shot it and fell in love. It hit perfect to the point of aim out past 25 yards. He has always liked my Marlin, it's still in the family. I'm just glad my son values firearms as I do.

The manual says you can dry fire it but DO NOT. You can find some stuff where people dry fired there's and they had to debur their cylinders. Not long after I got mine where I found a guy on KZbin had that happen to theirs. Maybe it varies from gun to gun but I would not risk it.

Got my burnt bronze about a month ago and really like it. It’s my favorite handgun now. I sat and worked the action on it for a few days and it really broke in nice. Smooth as butter now. Just something about a single action peacemaker that is addictive. Got on wife’s nerves. The magnum option is way overrated because you just don’t get magnum power out of a short barreled revolver. Better to just stick with 22 lr..not much difference and a whole lot cheaper. Put wood grips on it and it looks incredible with the burnt bronze finish. Pick one up if you can you wont regret it.

I need to correct something you said in this video, sir. The transfer bar on the Wrangler has the opposite function as a hammer stop. The transfer bar stays up to transfer the energy from the hammer to the firing pin when the trigger is pulled. If you look at the fore side of the hammer, you will see the "hill" hits the frame if the transfer bar is down. If the transfer bar is up, the "valley" of the hammer's strike face will make contact with the transfer bar, which in turn will push the firing pin. Hope this helps some people understand how it truly functions.

The bronze color of your Wrangler is sweet. And it's good to know that the single six grips will fit it. There are lots of great looking wood or ivory grips that can go on it. I think the barrel is a steel tube with an aluminum sleeve on the outside. Another channel I watch, Critique This, did a shoot out comparing the Wrangler to different types of Semi-Auto 22s from pocket pistols up to competition guns....and the Wrangler kicked their butts!

Thanks for the video! Always appreciate a gun review. For those of you like me who like to dry fire your guns and not worry about it, this is from the Ruger Wrangler manual: DRY-FIRING: Going through the actions of cocking, aiming, and pulling the trigger of an unloaded firearm is known as “Dry Firing.” It can be useful to learn the “feel” of your revolver. Be certain the revolver is unloaded and that the firearm is pointing in a safe direction even when practicing by dry-firing. The WRANGLER® revolver can be dry-fired without damage to the firing pin or other components.

The Ruger Wrangler, king of all the mouse guns! In all seriousness, I swore I would never buy one of these since I saw that god awful bronze color and it put me off immediately. A year later and the black version really grew on me and I saw one in my local gun shop new and out the door for $150 since it was the floor model. Picked it up, brought it home, and it's been a regular fixture in my arsenal ever since. I tote the thing around my property everyday either in a holster or in my belt depending if I want to be lazy. Usually have it loaded with .22 CB Long and .22 Stingers to deal with everything from rats and rabbits up to coyotes and birds. Sweet little pistol. While I like the handling of the Heritage Rough Rider and it's more traditional action over the Wrangler, the Wrangler just feels extremely solid and well built in the hand

@@coreyjohansen9823 I would probably say NO, but then you could ask "if I'm putting holes in paper, why use 9mm or .45? Why not just .22LR? Personally my outdoor range has several steel targets so using .22 Mag is more fun :-)

My Heritage single actions are my favorite guns to handle, they feel so authentic, each round is a process. I typically put at 100-150 through mine, I've been looking at the Ruger Wrangler as of late, just to mix things up. From every video I've seen they're definitely worth the sub-$200 price.

Don, I looked at one of those in Anderson at Grady’s Great Outdoors last year. The finish looked cheap and it was heavy. They had it on hold for me, but I had to pass. Good video as always.

I bought one of these as soon as I turned 21. The silver one. Wish I could’ve snagged the bronze version though. You can find quality grips for them easily on Etsy. The only difference I’ve seen between the ones Ruger offers is that the Etsy one doesn’t have the Ruger logo(obviously).

Very nice SA revolver. Sootch00 has the absolute best gun videos on KZbin. Just one thing amused me, but it will be about the price differences between the EU and the US. For the price of 1 pc of 9mm Luger cartridges, you can buy up to 3 cartridges of .22LR in the Czech Republic, but 1 pc of .22WMR cartridges costs the same as 2 pcs of 9mm Luger cartridges. So cheap shooting yes, but only with .22LR. At least in the Czech Republic. God bless you and yours 🙂

I love my Wrangler, but all buyers/users need to know about a potential problem. The Wrangler manual states that the revolver can be safely dry fired without damage. This is absolutely NOT accurate or true. As with all rimfire firearms it should not be dry fired at all. I tested this while preparing for my Wrangler review and quickly peened the edge of all the cylinder bores to the point where no rounds could be inserted. I then contacted Ruger who very quickly replaced the cylinder with no questions asked or cost to me. Do NOT dry fire your Wrangler or any other rimfire firearms regardless of what the manual says.

Nice review. One correction, though: the transfer bar doesn't "protect" the firing pin. The transfer bar remains below the level of the firing pin until the trigger is pulled, which raises the transfer bar, filling the gap between the hammer and firing pin, allowing primer ignition. Otherwise, the gun will not fire, even if dropped on the hammer.

I own an one and find it to be an excellent handgun, no matter what the price. A thick cold hammer forged barrel is the state of art. You won’t find one any better. I’m changing my grips to custom wood which will help with balance. The grips that come with it look like something from a Five and Dime. There is no, absolutely none, cylinder shake I can detect, yet gun is functions smoothly and reliably. The trigger pull I find to be excellent. No creep at all, none. Trigger breaks smooth as silk. This gun is really a pinnacle of engineering, design, and especially manufacture. Comparable to any gun in just how it feels to shoot. All that at a price practically affordable to every gun enthusiast. They hit it out of the ball park with the Wrangler! Looking for a single action .22? Look no further and save yourself a bunch of money. The gun shoots a lot better than you do anyway.
