This might be something I need to look into. I've been using an output cable from my computer, and using that as a waveform generator.

Hello, I have a question, what is the TTL-in (GPI Digital signal input interface) pin in the port on the back of the function generator for? and investigated but could not find an application, I thought it was related to the function of the EXT-in frequency meter of the generator but they are not even bridged and as much as I investigate the TTL protocol I cannot find anything about that pin. Greetings from Chile.

This AWG is sold under several different names. I bought one recently branded SeeSii. One thing that I've noticed is the amount of RF noise the wall wart creates and shows up on my Hantek DSO5102P scope. Also, is it normal to see 50V P-P of a modified sine wave measured on the shell of the BNC connector even when the unit is turned off? Shouldn't it be better isolated when powered off? Even touching one lead of my volt meter to the BNC shell (AC Volts) shows a ~6V reading. What's going on here?

I'm curious what the upper freq limit of your scope is. I've got one of the MH's that goes to 25Mcs and it's output shows to be attenuated at the high end but it isn't due to my o'scope lacking headroom but the generator is using lower grade op amps that are being run at their extreme limit. As I said, just curious.

Hi Paul, I took a peek in your shop but I cannot find any clamp meter in there? Since you are so in for multimeters, do you have any recommendations for a good (price/performance) clamp meter? because I am looking for one. And do you yourself use them besides your seventy multimeters? ..... After some more investigation I found one in your shop, but it is hided behind a picture of another multimeter?? The link goes to the Meterk Mk06?? ..... The Meterk Mk06 is sold out, so bought the UT210E.

Usually not the motive to analyze or review these products and show how they actually perform out in the open. the motive is some advertising as a "thanks" to these Chinese business "friends" for gifting an item and then an incentive to piggyback ride other people's purchases from China.

OK, at the risk of being recognized as ignorant--what is the real-world use of a signal generator? I assume that it has better uses than just putting pretty pictures up on a DSO. Is it used for troubleshooting electronic circuits, and if so, how? Please use small words and speak slowly---I am electronically-challenged. Thank you.
@learnelectronics6 жыл бұрын
It has lots of uses in real world electronics, for instance let's say you are building an analog amplifier for a stereo system. You may want to run sine waves of varying frequencies and amplitudes through your design to see how it will respond to different input signals. Momentary it can also be used to test radio receivers, or even used to generate a clock signal for digital circuits.
@Leif_YT6 жыл бұрын
Let me say that you're not the only one with that question :) I've subscribed many electronic channels and have seen so many signal generators in rewiews, but so far i haven't seen a single video showing it in use and what it would be good for. I would love to see some practical videos to learn what they can be be used for.

People are getting confused with an earlier function generator that had an inbuilt SM power supply that could give you a shock on the BNC ground connector. SDG Electronics did a KZbin video on it about three years ago and the mods that he did to get over it. He has also done another video recently on the latest version still with a Switch Mode power Supply and how it has improved thogh he did replace the internal power supply. Though some of these are badged for different suppliers not all are, and even some with virtually the same case maybe different inside. However that doesn't mean that there isn't a Chinese company out there supplying the main and display boards to other companies to complete with power supply, etc.
