I have to say, watching you guys suffer through parts runs to Summit Racing makes me count my blessings! Summit is about 4 miles from me right here in Sparks, Nevada, and 3 trips in a day is the norm for many projects. We just need to get them to franchise like McDonalds, and nobody will have to suffer like this! Hee-hee!

This one is so relatable. Sometimes things just snowball and all you can do is figure out what went wrong and fix it. The school of hard knocks is a great and sometimes expensive teacher that's for sure. And thanks for the tip to see if oil has gas in it. My boat has a Yamaha SHO 4-stroke on it and those are notorious for "making oil" because of how the block is made (rings have a hard time getting seated) and being a bass boat engine most will say to run it like you stole it with proper warmup and cooldown to keep it from making oil. I think I got the rings in mine seated OK but at times I miss the Mercury that was on my previous bass boat.

I feel your pain, back and forth to parts store, I got to the point that I would tow, trailer or drive vehicle to store and do the work there till done. I had a 66 El Camino in El Paso in the 70's. Starters on the 396 were a problem with heat and drain batts and just not function right. I got tired of the 396, got me a 350 small block, happier. Sold the vehicle and bought a kawasaki 650. Heaven

Instead of rubber vacuum caps I have started using silicone plugs and then I just drill a a hole into them and use them as a cap, or plug as needed. I just have not been able to find vacuum caps that are compatible with todays fuels for whatever reason. Harbor Freight sells a kit of silicone plugs now that are small, cheap, and handy to keep around if they are closer to you guys.

You’ve probably already done your troubleshooting on the Sniper but… after you fixed the wiring the injectors are possibly doing what they should (start prime). It’s hard to tell as you didn’t leave the ignition on long enough in the video. One way to know is to put it into flood clear mode by having the accelerator pedal to the floor when you turn the ignition on, in this mode the injectors shouldn’t fire.

Also Fords around that and earlier didn't like being up or down hill while low on gas , unlike Chevy who has a Catch bowl so the won't run out of gas when it's low and up or down hill

Sniper injectors are notoriously noisy. Also keep in mind that the sniper needs a minimum of 12 volts to work, so if your battery is drained, it will not start. Part of the joys of having a Sniper (I'm running a Sniper Stealth on my Windsor stroker).

You just confirmed something I always tell my clients. A project is never finished. You will work on everything. Age and experience don't have carry any weight either. Something WILL fail. Very different vehicle isn't like anybody else's project. You did something that youre the only one that can repair it. Nobody else would ever knew w how it all works. I have a Ranger that I put a 302 in. To figure out where all of the electrical components are, you'd have to been standing there, with me. All of the why's and how comes can only be answered by me. I didn't build it for anybody else to work on. As a builder, professional, it wasn't done for anybody else's convience. If anything, its a deterence to sticking your nose in where it don't belong. So yeah, your vehicles are our own.
