One of my favorite exotics…. But not for PvP. Grapple+dunk is incredibly fun. Using it with hunter and gyrfalcons and stylish is a really pretty solid for add clear. You go invis immediately

I hear you on that! Ruinous Effigy has so much great utility on the PvE side of the game! In PvP, it was good for a few cool plays, but it just isn't a gun that I'd take too seriously on that side of the game. 👍👍

Same. I messed around with it in Crucible a few times and when it works, I've gotten some incredible plays with it but the two biggest downsides are more often than not, you're going to get picked off running over to grab the Transmutation orb and even if you do manage to grab it, you're still leaving yourself open while trying to close into melee range.

Haha! It's definitely not the easiest weapon to test, and even trickier to get going in game!😂 I try to be a man of the people and for the people though, so if a little bit of pain and suffering is required to give the community what they want, I'm willing to endure it every now and then. 😅🍻

Dont worry about the matches. The "Pokeball Pistol" is hard to use and there are some other better choices, even Legend. Wanting to see the next one!

It certainly is a pretty tough weapon to get going. It's was good for a few laugh, and a couple of cool plays, but I really don't think that it's the gun for me! 😂🍻

Because of the ammo economy issues now with traces due to trasmat system added in, its why i highly valued path of least resistance for a really good trace rifle for pvp mainly due to enhanced triple tap helping its ammo alot

I am a bit Path of Least Resistance fan! I've spent a lot of time with it in PvE, but not so much in PvP. Perhaps I'll give it a shot in there one of these days! 😁🍻

The only downside about this weapon is that this orb should potentially be allowed to have synergy with a lot of exotics... But it just doesn't which ruins any kind of build crafting impossible around it's exotic trait . At one point the " Stronghold" exotic benefitted the orb guarding , but Bungo said it was a bug and removed it...

@IronworkerGaming maybe pair ruinous with stag, pop well with void buddy stay in well with orb and hold down the guard. Get the heal from well and a damage reduction with stag while also generating class energy once your shield gets depleted? Score a kill with orb and immediately get an overshield? Just spit balling ideas.

I highly suggest you just review The Last Word next. Think about it, when was the last time you seen this old school monster used in PvP? Is it still an epic dueling weapon? Or has it fallen from grace?

Honestly, the changes to the special ammo economy killed all my willingness to really use special weapons at all in PvP. Particularly exotics, as often times you just don't get enough use out of them for how long you have to wait between using them. While there's some exceptions, in general I find that primaries tend to kill nearly as quickly, and you don't feel like you're wasting your time if you do miss. I'm sure with the old economy on them, top tier players were consistently getting a free kill or two with every life as a result, but for us average players who miss sometimes, it really hurt to have less chances.

I know exactly where you're coming from. If I do bring a special, it's generally a shotgun due to my higher close range success rate with them, but the scarcity of ammo has really dissuaded me from running other special weapons. As a player who doesn't typically net enough kills to keep my self flush with special ammo throughout the duration of a match, double primaries does feel like the more rational play. 👍👍

Honestly i love trace rifles in pvp but ive had similar experiences withe this weapon and i find myself always going back to either wavesplitter or cold heart.

I feel that the Void ball should have been something you could throw. It has a lot of great functions and I wouldn't mind losing the light attack if I could just chuck it and run.

I love trace rifles ruinous is very fun but definitely kinda bad as far as traces go if you use stasis or suspend it can make getting thee orb a lot easier to get but I like to use blink to dunk on people with I’ve got about 1700 kills on the trials trace would highly recommend that one

Ruinous Effigy certainly did have it's moments...but they were few and far between.😂 I've always had a soft spot for Traces due to the fact they were a unique weapon class, but I was really struggling with the special ammo economy currently in pvp. 👍👍

Fav exotic to the looks and its mechanics, however o e gripe ive had with it is it never made a void breach when paired with that fragment that killing suppressed enemies generates a breach unless they fixed it already

Ahhh, that is disappointing. I never picked up on the fact that there was a disconnect there, but I'll have to watch out for that next time I bring it along in a PvE activity! 👍👍

You can pair it with Briarbinds as a bit of a workaround. Its also kind of a fun added layer to Effigy's (PvE) play style.

@@IronworkerGaming Also worth noting, if you're looking for a synergy that *does* work with the slam Suppression effect, Gyrfalcons on Hunter is incredible. Slam kills automatically grant invis, along with a buffet of other very nice benefits from that exotic. Which, in turn, let's you spec waaay deeper into Void fragments than you would otherwise get to for a competent build. Final tip, you can use Transmutation sphere guard while invis 😉
