Having A awesome time with my buddy on the Ohio river. Don’t always have to catch giant fish to have a good time. We ran planer boards and set out to do exactly what we wanted and that is catch some fish.

How much weight are you using under the planner boards and about how much line do you put out before attaching the board? Any tips would be appreciated. I use planner for striped bass on Lake Cumberland but never for catfish.

Just using 4 ounce dragging weights. I usually give it just a nice little toss or I guess a lob off the side of the boat, tap, bottom, and then attach my board. I don’t want to much line out because you’ll be dragging hard and snag up a lot more.

@timbaker3396 depending on the current, you may have to let off a little bit of line or so. Right now we don’t have a whole lot of current, so I’m not giving it too much line before I clip on my board.
