Rules of My Wiki and Why I'll Never do a Face Reveal

People don't seem to understand that my wiki is for information only!

Your explanation of your feelings on face reveals embodies my thoughts exactly. Sometimes I look back on the minor hints I've accidentally given to people I interact with, and it makes me shudder to think that people who know and respect me will think different of me if they ever put the clues together. Still being in school, I only have a few years left before I never see any of them again, but once I screw up my life on the Internet, it's a permanent impact that can follow you forever. I completely respect and agree with your thoughts on the matter, and it's nice to see I'm not alone.

Believe me, once your out of school you will have way less worries about people finding out because you'll never see most of them again! But the main people I worried about were my parents. Now that I'm out of the house I have my own place and it will be much more difficult for them to find out.

And I'll admit I was guilty of editing wikis too when I was younger. Back in 2009 I tried making a page about Percy's Ghost Engine and it kept getting deleted so I kept bringing it back. Eventually someone messaged me saying "it's not needed", which is ironic because now there is an actual page about the ghost train haha.

Those people are only seeing it from the channel they air on, or they HAVE seen the show, but they only judge it based off of series 8-16, or 22 and 23.

I understand what you mean but I did end up telling my friends. Most of them took it very well but there are the few who still mock me and I have a group of bullies in my school who still mock me but most of my friends never really bring it up. I'm glad to have such good friends but one day my carer could backfire thanks to T&F but I'll never give up on the little blue tank engine.

Your reason not to make a face reveal seems legit to me, and I can definitely relate to it, because I'm from France, and Thomas has a really bad reputation there, so I would feel the same way if I had a channel about Thomas. I see one limit to it though: what if someone who knows you IRL finds one of your videos and recognizes your voice? (I'll add that you have great narration skills)

My dates are not the same as the RWS IOS books either. In my Thomas universe, Thomas was built in 1942 and arrived on Sodor in 1945 to keep him younger than engines 2-5 and the majority of the books (aside from The Three Railway Engines taking place in 1922 and the Duke stories taking place in the 1940's) take place the year they were written but the Skarloey Railway episodes from Season 4 take place in the late 1960's due to Duck, Donald, Douglas and Oliver making cameos. I also prefer to keep most of my interests private from the public to avoid mocking issues.

I've created about four or five wikis over the years, and am currently active (when I can edit, anyway) on Trains And Locomotives Wiki. I created that wiki after a dispute with my previous wiki, Locomotive Wiki, during my youth. But what's even more ironic, is that I was inspired to create a wiki since some of my pages were orignally deleted at Thomas Wiki during the few times I edited and created articles detailing every engine's prototype (Duck being a GWR 57xx Class, etc.), and since I'm into North American diesel locomotives and rollingstock, I figured I might create my own wiki instead of dealing with all this crap! Lol

I know how you feel, my friend's do crazy not normal stuff as well, but I would also never tell them about my hobby (if you can say that). I was basicly very stupid when I sayd I've got a youtube Channel, and well, they still ask me about the Name of the Channel to this day. Therefor, I think you did the right thing to keep Thomas out of your privat life outside of youtube.

Yeah, I can relate to that. I watch your videos and other channels like you and Im in my teens. I am the only one that knows I watch this stuff and if there is one thing I have learned through middle school, its you can't trust anyone with info like this. I can completely understand why.

Occasional I get people who continuously ask me for Trial of an Engine series 2 and will even give it a release date and no matter how many times I try to tell them that Trial was always planned to be a one off series, they won't take no for an answer and this really frustrates me because it makes me feel as if their in charge of my channel and I only work them and not aloud to do my own non train projects anymore. So I know exactly how you feel.

My head cannon would be different as well. In my universe, Thomas is an LSWR G6 and Henry is a GCR Robinson Atlantic. Here's the stuff in terms of what is different: The Sad Story of Henry takes place in 1923. Troublesome Engines takes place in 1929 (with Thomas and the Guard taking place in 1927, Thomas Goes Fishing taking place in 1930/31, Thomas, Terence and The Snow taking place in 1934 and Thomas and Bertie taking place in Spring 1935). Edward the Blue Engine and Four Little Engines take place in 1953. Percy and the Signal takes place in 1954. Little Old Twins takes place in 1959. The Culdee Fell Railway is different in my universe - and the engines' build dates are the same as their counterparts. The Arlesdale Railway opened in 1875 in my universe. Oliver arrives on Sodor in 1968. Tramway Engines takes place around 1964. But as for TVS stuff, well - Molly is a H1 (a lot like Trainboy's Molly), Hiro arrived in 1937 (or sometime around then), characters (like Neville, Jeremy, Timothy the SCC tank engine, Hugo, etc.) don't exist, Rebecca is introduced in Series 21, and there isn't really any pain when it comes to Thomas' travels in Series 22 - 24, etc.
