If Diesel 10 doesn't come back again, I just want y'all to know, that's a Robot 🤖.

I never noticed the Magic Railroad fan remake was filmed there. 😮 (also I’ve been to this railroad with my grandparents on my annual graduation vacation)
@Veerslol17 сағат бұрын
5:59 Well they wanted to rebuild it, but the city would only permit it if only it was a metal trestle. The founder however didn’t want to, since it would be out of theme with everything else, so they opted for the switchback method

Fun Fact: Diesel 10 is not an engine, he's actually a Robot 🤖.
@robbierenfro720922 сағат бұрын
You forgot to mention the end of the credits, where we see Diesel show up out of nowhere over the cliffs looking nearby with a Devious Plot threatening to kill all the stinky steamies.
@robbierenfro720922 сағат бұрын
1st of all, Hero was not the first stinky steam engine to arrive on the island of sodor, that was Gordon.

So, as a Roaring Camp employee, I can fill in a few details: The reversal move at the beginning is a break-in run. These engines (Especially Tuolumne since she is the only one operating them) run almost daily. Still, the break-in ensures that these engines can run these trains without mechanical failures while en route to Bear Mountain. Our Dixiana locomotive is currently down for repairs, and our other Shay, Sonora, will be back next year in 2025. Plymouth 40 was built in 1958 to work at the Kaiser Steel Mill in Fontana, California, north of Los Angeles, and was sold to Roaring Camp in 1975. The Spring Canyon Trestle bridge that burned in 1976 was not rebuilt for several reasons. The biggest one was that it was too expensive. The switchback was a quick fix that became the mainstay. There has been some chatter about rebuilding it, as it would allow up to three trains to operate simultaneously while also packing more passengers. Finally, I donated the Lionel G Scale Thomas with Annie and Clarabel to occasionally run on the G Scale setup at the gift shop. Thomas is a great runner. And we do have other engines and rolling stock that are switched out every once in a while. Feel free to leave any questions down below. Happy to answer!

They go out and back before loading passengers to check that the brakes are working and there are no problems with any of the cars.

The edit with the engine blowing steam out the sides, mixed with Henry's sneeze is the big highlight for me. 3:52- 4:02 and this WHEESH! and snore. 9:41- 9:46 and 12:24-12:29 Plus nice little fun fact to find out his was for some of the on-location shoots for the parody remake Magic Railroad. Since I know they even revisited the same locations used for the actual movie. That is definite dedication right there.

I absolutely loved this video. It reminds me a lot about two places I’ve been to. One being Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock, NC, a place I loved going to as a kid, and the other being the Cass Scenic Railroad in Cass, WV, one of three destinations I traveled to back in the summer of 2022, on a special trip after graduating high school. Also, at 3:55, I died laughing!!! Never thought of a steam blowdown that way, lol!!! 🤣

I live an hour east from a place in Flint, Michigan, called Crossroads Village, and they have a narrow gauge railroad called the Huckleberry Railroad. You should check it out, it's a fun train ride. Check it out in particular on their railroad's railfans weekend, the first weekend in August, then you can tour their shops and see all of the Huckleberry Railroad's engines and rolling stock. Something to keep in mind
