Raiden is a fast, lightweight sword fighter type character that exploits the opponent’s defensive disadvantages. His fast movement combined with Defense Offense, a move that allows him to both attack and dodge at the time time, allows him to easily get close to an opponent who would be left open after a massive attack. This should also be noted that Raiden’s parry is unique to any other counter, being that it’s more of a combo opportunity than it is a counter, as it raiden can easily use it multiple times in a row against an unrelenting opponent, solidifying his aggressive play style. His shortcomings are that he is a hard character to master, you need to understand his moveset and use it wisely. If Raiden takes a hit, it would surely knock him off his feet.

@@donkeykongisytpooping3002 Well, seeing as how you can't always cut enemies with blade mode in MGR, and they have to be be at a certain health threshold, I'd say something like before 80% the characters just get cut with the sword, but not chopped up, but after 80% they get cut into pieces(maybe with light pouring out instead of blood for obvious reasons) and instantly killed. You can chose to do horizontal and vertical strikes with different buttons.

okey so heres my idea for the whole pack of metal gear rising in smash bros: trailer: snake and the other smash fighters are fighting against a metal gear, but the metal gear is too strong, snake gets knocked prone, the metal gear rises up his gian blade, and when the blade is right about to finish snake, the screen fades to black, then, a familiar voice says ¨kept you waiting uh?¨ snake open his eyes and sees raiden blocking the sword, and then: RULES OF NATURE, raiden proceeds to yeet the metal gear into the air and chop it in half and when it does thats when the smash screen appears: ¨saucy jack, slashes his way into smash¨ and then we see a few scenes of raiden moveset, the themes of the winds of destruction sound (stains of time, stranger i remain and red sun) while raiden fights on theyr stages and uses they weapons, on one point we see raiden going after megaman and rob, then raiden gets sorrounded by canine characters (such as duck hunt and wolf from star fox) when bladewolf appears and saves him while sounds i am my own master now, a little bit more of moveset, we see his final smash and in some point bayonetta is about to take off some clothes when ¨there will be blood!¨ sam appears with the screen of ¨brazil is coming for voce¨, we see a remake of his meme but this time with smash characters, he apllauds while metwo destroys shit like in armstrong fight and in some point he talks with link, telling him that his sword desires to batlle in the blood of his enemies, then we hear the VA of midna saying ¨yeah link! my home is in the heart of baby goboblins!¨ sam and raiden give each other a handshake when sepiroth show jealusy and says ¨this town isnt big enough for two swordsman anime boys with white air¨ and then proceeds to attack raiden, but somebody grabs his sword with his bare hands! armstrong says ¨nice knife¨ and proceeds to destroy sepiroth sword and punches him away, then both sam and raiden says ¨lets dance¨ and then the three of them dance to it has to be this way characters: raiden: fighter, uses simple attacks with his sword, can use the weapons of the winds of destruction, final smash is jack the ripper mode, his long range attack is using the rocket launcer, mantain to aim and track enemies. sam: echo fighter, same as raiden but instead of using other weapons he charges his attacks. wolf: assist trophy armstrong: boss fight themes: -rules of nature -i am my own master now -a stranger i remain -stains of time -red sun -the only thing i know for real -collective consiusness -it has to be this way stages: the roof in wich you fight metal gear ray the train in wich you fight sam the roof in wich you fight mistral the entrance of marshasl in wich you fight moonsoon the roof in wich you fight sundowner and the roof of metal gear excelsus in wich you fight armstrong

@@mehpainter Here’s what I think would happen for Metal Gear if another Smash was made and Snake returned: I think Sakurai would add Big Boss as a second rep and then Raiden if there was going to be three Metal Gear reps. The reason I think Big Boss would be added before Raiden is due to the fact that he’s the second most important protagonist and along with Solid Snake has become the face of the series. If you played all of the mainline games you would understand how important he is. Raiden would work best as the third Metal Gear rep if it was possible for third party franchises to have three characters. Also Big Boss and Raiden were the characters that carried the franchise in the 2010s and the games from the 2010s barely have any representation. So I think it would be best to focus on both characters to cover more ground. If Metal Gear became like Fire Emblem then I could see one time characters like Sam getting added but at the moment Metal Gear is just a 3rd party franchise with a very small amount of representation. No third party franchise at the moment has had more then three characters and even then there’s more important and well established characters that would take the spot. We would need at least eight character slots for Metal Gear which would be insane for a 3rd party franchise. This is why I believe Revengeance would need to be it’s own separate series because if it is listed as part of the Metal Gear series as a whole then there would be a very small amount of content from it. We would get three music tracks from it at best and a stage if Revengeance Raiden was the version of Raiden they were focusing on the most. In conclusion, Metal Gear is a very big universe with lots of characters and games. There’s only so much content you can add from it without going overboard. So if more content is to be added it must be balanced very carefully and the entire franchise as a whole should be kept in mind.

Solid Snake has Big Boss' face (which was an intentional detail by the way) in his fighter model, so I'd make Big Boss or Venom Snake as alternate costumes since they already look so similar anyways. For actual fighters, I'd pick Raiden (from revengeance obviously) with a Jetstream Sam echo fighter, Revolver Ocelot, and or Senator Armstrong. We could probably throw in some assist trophies like Psycho Mantis, Blade Wolf, or hell even Monsoon if you really want

@@NightSkyNyx Using Big Boss’s face from MGS3 was intentional, but not for the reason you think. You see MGS3 had a mini game called Snake vs Monkey that’s a crossover with Ape Escape. You play as Solid Snake in the mini game and talk to Campbell on your codec. Thing is, they reused Big Boss’s model instead of modifying it to look like Solid Snake. At the time this was Solid Snake’s most recent appearance so Sakurai and the Smash team used it. This was stated at GDC. The 3ds port of MGS3 redesigned Big Boss’s face to have a different beard, lighter skin tone, wrinkles around the eyes and a differently colored bandanna. The pachinko machine based Big Boss’s design off of the 3ds version. They even recreated the 3ds renders for all of the characters. The Legacy Collection used the 3ds render for its promotional material. Smash Ultimate didn’t update the face to look like the 3ds redesign. Either because they didn’t want to update the design or because Snake vs Monkey isn’t included in the 3ds version of MGS3. Meaning Solid Snake isn’t in the game in any form. Even if they kept the old design and never updated it to be the young Snake facecamo from MGS4, it would still be drastically different from Big Boss and Venom Snake’s designs in MGSV which are built on the newer designs. When compared to the original MGS3 design, Big Boss has a drooped nose, lighter skin tone, wrinkles around the eyes, different shade of brown and different beard. They would have to make significant changes to the face model because it’s so different. Adding to that, Venom Snake’s face is slightly different then Big Boss’s. For example his cheek bones are different, his eye color is different and his lips are a different color. Big Boss and Venom Snake wouldn’t work as a costume even if we discount the differences in design. All of Snake’s moves that aren’t weapon related are impossible in MGSV due to them being a different fighting style then what Big Boss and Venom Snake use. They can’t do specific things like Snake’s dash attack because it got replaced with a quick dive which isn’t in Snake’s moveset. Sure some weapons that Snake has are in MGSV but even then it wouldn’t be faithful to MGSV’s gameplay. The reason is because MGSV encourages the player to be stealthy and take out enemies without killing them. So most of the time you’re going to be using non lethal weapons like tranquilizer guns, the stun arm and other weapons such as grenades that release a gas which puts people to sleep. Big Boss and Venom Snake would have a moveset that uses as many physical abilities that they have in MGSV like cqc, crouch walking and quick diving. I bet they would “join” Smash just so that they could get more recruits. Meaning they would bring non lethal weapons instead of explosives. Finally, we don’t know how many characters a third party franchise can have. So we need to add the most important characters first. So adding one off characters from a spin-off is basically impossible unless eight reps or so are possible. Sam and Armstrong are out of the question until that becomes a possibility. If we were going to get a villain it would be Big Boss/Venom Snake and maybe Liquid if they wanted more characters after Raiden. Having three reps that are the protagonists of the series is a good way to represent the series as a whole. Big Boss even counts as a villain rep. If more characters are possible then maybe we’ll eventually get characters from Revengeance. But honestly if they were to give Raiden a villain I think Solidus would be the most likely choice. He was the villain of MGS2 which was Raiden’s first game. He trained Raiden and made him a soldier and raised him for a few years. Unfortunately Solidus and MGS2 as a whole along with Revengeance are overshadowed by games like MGS3 and MGS1. So characters like Liquid, Ocelot and The Boss are going to get in before Solidus.

Has the modding scene hit Bayo with a Raiden skin? I feel like that's as close as Raiden gets to a moveset in smash. Go further beyond and replace the bullets with an extended sword hitbox from his feet.
