Great ending! You could've mitigated your luck by adding to your battle instead of move. You only need one warrior in the clearing with two buildings and roll at least a 1 (15/16 chance) to get those two points. Then you have two battles left for the keep clearing, with two warriors. Then you just need to roll at least a 1, in one of the battles and you'd just have enough points. 23 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 30. Really all the Cat player needed to do was keep one warrior in each clearing to stop you. Great plays in any case. Really thought the WA or Cult had it in the bag.

Yeah it was a tough call! Because in that case if just 1 ambush had been played it would have been over and I knew there was a chance - due to none being in the discard. It was a sketchy! Thanks for watching.

Love more root gameplay, I've watched pretty much all of yours already! I think it's more preferable if you had the entire map open instead of zoomed in, because the icons and # of warriors are much more readable when zoomed all the way out

I have a question about playing the Vagabond. I’m a little confused - in the app - if you remove a warrior of a faction you are hostile with, you do not get any additional points. It says on the game board though that you get an extra point if you remove an enemy piece. Does “piece” only refer to buildings? Thanks!

You're probably confused because of crossbow. It says "Score (+1) per Hostile piece removed *in battle* during your turn." Using Crossbow doesn't count as a battle. There is also Crackdown in the Clockwork expansion where you can remove WA tokens from matching clearings if you kill a WA base. You also don't get to score the extra points because the tokens get "returned" and not "removed" in this case.

I’m sure destroying a sympathy on the first turn was not optimal play. Considering the WA had only 1 supporter and wasn’t able to revolt second, a more punishing approach would have been to not trigger outrage at all.

Probably. But I wanted the points - despot benefits so much from getting at least 1 token each turn. If I hadn’t done that I don’t think I would have been able to pull off that W at the end

You could have gone round 1 triple recruit with charismatic, so 6 warriors into turmoil and then despot

Love the root game play but this time I think you misplayed the despot at the start. You recruit too few birds and use a bird card to recruit, instead of a bunny that you had. You should've recruited more and attacked more, instead of that many moves.

If I had put the bunny in they could have turmoiled me easily. I only ever had 1 bunny roost.
