This is gold. I 100% do what you are saying not to do. I noticed a about a year ago and had no idea what to do about it. Looking forward to correcting!

You do a really good job explaining this. I got the same feedback from my disc golf coach. It feels awkward at first but makes a big difference. Great video, great content, keep it up!

Just saw in my form video that I do this as well. I wonder if this would also be the reason many beginners have similar distance (or achieve even more distance) while throwing from standstill.

This is a large part of it for a lot of people for sure!!

I did that exact thing with my backfoot for a long time. It was a pain to eliminate that habbit, but once I fixed it, I really felt a difference.

I see so many people do this, but that’s good you were able to correct it!💪

I really needed to see this. I know for a fact I have a pointed away back foot. I’ve always felt I don’t come through the hot with my back side at all. Makes sense now.

I didn't even know that I did this with my backfoot util I checked my recent form check video 😳I will try your tip and practice the footwork.

Back knee behind front knee?
@ConnorOReillyDG15 күн бұрын
In a sense you should be almost trying to push and rotate that back knee towards the pit of the front knee

Not saying you’re wrong but Cole Redalen throws super duper far using that exact wrong foot position. (Or at least he did at one point haven’t checked lately maybe he changed it).
@ConnorOReillyDG17 күн бұрын
Cole is an amazing thrower especially every body part that isn’t the left leg. I love his swing other than that. He actually tore his hip this season because of this footwork so even though you can push through it, it is not ideal and will strain your body. So while yes many good throwers do this, as we age our body can’t deal with the stress as easily and injury can occur.

@ dang! I didn’t know that! I haven’t been following the pro scene as much this last year. Yeah I know for me pushing 50 I have had to change a ton of things to be able to keep throwing far without hurting. Your tip was one of the many things I worked on once the “KZbin” age began. Again wasn’t saying you were wrong I think it’s a great tip. Thanks for the info hope Cole heals up and best of luck to you and him and all the tour.
