I hope that this video will reach as many people as possible who would like to learn flamenco techniques on guitar. This is a unique opportunity to start with the first lesson. I think everyone will agree with me that regardless of the kind of music we play flamenco is one of the absolute basics and each of us should learn the basics of this music. Hey there! I've decided to start learning your whole playlist, but I'd like to ask you - is it ok to practice all of those techniques with an acoustic dreadnought guitar (with metal strings)? I don't have this classic one, and it feels kind of extra difficult.

Hello! It is a difficult question. First of all, you can learn some flamenco harmony, some typical flamenco guitar sounds and phrases, different flamenco rhythms and later on use it all in different musical genres on a steel string guitar (acoustic or electric) without any problem! It may also sound very interesting! So you can study many of my videos using steel string guitar - like for example: Malagueña, Beautiful Spanish Guitar Chords, and others. But if you want to learn and play flamenco guitar on a little bit higher level with this specific, typical sound of flamenco guitar using specific techniques like rasgueados, pulgar technique, alzapua etc. then you will need to have a flamenco guitar with nylon strings.
