Object: Be the first player to eliminate all the tiles from your rack by forming them into sets of runs and groups. Try to keep a few points in your rack as possible. At the start of the game, you decide how many points to reach to end the game.Contents:106 tiles (2 sets of tiles numbered 1 to 13 in four colors: black, red, blue, orange; 2 Jokers);4 playing racks, pouch.Set-Up:Place the tiles into the pouch and mix them thoroughly. Each player picks a tile; the one who selects the highest number goes first and the play proceeds in a clockwise direction. Return the tiles to the pouch and mix them. Each player takes 14 tiles and places them on his rack. Playing:There are two kinds of sets: A group is a set of either three or four tiles of the same number in different colors.Arunis a set of three or more consecutive numbers, all in the same color. The number 1 is always played the lowest number; it cannot follow the number 13.In order to place tiles on the table, each player must make an initial play of at least 30 points in one or more sets. These points must come from the tiles on the player's rack and not from tiles already played on the table. A tile is worth its face value. A Joker may be used for any tile and its point value is that of the tile it represents. The penalty for holding a Joker if another player wins the round is30 points. If a player cannot enter the round, or purposely chooses not to, the player must take a tile from the pouch and the turn ends. After players have made their initial plays, they can also build on other sets on the table withtiles from their racks. If a player cannot add onto the other sets, the player picks a tile from the pouch and the turn ends. A player cannot lay down a tile he has just picked; he must wait untilhis next turn. Play continues until one player empties his rack and calls, "Rummikub®".That ends the round and players tally their points (see Scoring). When the pouch is empty, play continues until no more plays can be made; that ends the round .

I thought a player’s turn ends after they select a tile. You seem to continue playing tiles after you select a tile.

At 5:03 you call it a "red" 6, when it would be a *blue* 6. lol And at 6:23 you said there isn't any "black 13's around here" . . . you have the only two there is. You mean there isn't any black runs to put a 13 on or sets of 13 to put one on.

Hi, thank you for the explanations and instructions. However i don’t understand how come i see 2 black “13”? I thought there were 4 colors for each number? I’m new to this. Merci

There are only four colours and each colour has two sets from 1 to 13 . That means, there are two black 13 or two red 7 or two yellow 9 etc... ^_^

For years I've seen dozens of videos explaining and showing the game. Not one video of playing the game BOTH vertically and horizonally. So much more fun, challenging, and interesting. Guess I'll have to make a video myself.

What does it mean when the game says "The board is invalid?" I didn't understand why it said that and i tried to find videos talking abt it but i couldn't

Look closely at the board. Something is off. Perhaps you don’t have 3 tiles minimum somewhere, or a run is missing a number in sequence etc. or you have 2 of the the same color in a set

You were supposed to replace the joker with a black eight. You moved it to make it a black eleven. That is not allowed..

You moved the joker a few times... without replacing anything.. I have never read or seen anything like that. please explain.

You don’t need to replace the joker with the exact thing, you just need to use it somewhere else in the board. You can’t put it back on your rack. I am using the official rummikub app with the official rules. If something wasn’t allowed, it would not let me do it.

@@PuzzlingGames does this mean that if a joker is on the table at the end or beginning of a set, as long as there are 3 or more tiles, you can take the joker, start a new set as long as you use one tile from your rack and you can also use another tile or more from the table? The rules are not clear to me.. this will be a "game" changer for me and my friends... Thank You
