RUMOR: FOX to NATIONALLY TELEVISE Cowboys/Eagles in Week 17?

FOX might do what they did last year with Cowboys/Bills and what CBS did in 2022 with Bills/Chiefs and show the week 17 battle between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles to the entire country, essentially making this a game shown in 100% of all households. I break down why that's the case here

Four Words: Games Not Yet Scheduled. My question is "Why didn't FOX just give CBS the Cardinals-Rams game to put as the game to be shown in Minnesota and New Orleans?" Maybe because you then lose the LA market. But if that's the concern, then why not just peg Broncos-Bengals then, as that's the _only_ game outstanding that isn't being hosted by a Top 10 market?

And I would not be surprised if this game gets moved off Week 17 entirely as I can see the College Football Playoff Committee and elected members of congress and the Senate going to court to block the NFL from playing Saturday games in Week 16 (due to that weekend being the first weekend of the College Football Playoff), forcing a likely revamp of Weeks 15-17 that would include the Christmas Day games ending Week 16 instead of starting Week 17 and the teams playing Christmas Day play their Week 17 games Monday 12/30 with potentially a double-doubleheader on ESPN and ABC as a result.

Let's not forget that Eagles - Cowboys can always be played on Thanksgiving and that is the only game in it's time slot

It's too early to assume that Cowboys/Eagles will be a standalone. Keep in mind that FOX doesn't reserve the America's Game of the Week branding for national games. I've seen that used in plenty of their late regional windows. Ravens/Cowboys is getting the AGOTW branding and it's not a national game.

The NFL is not playing a third game on Christmas because the games are being shown international. A night game in the states would be overnight in Europe and Asia. This is per Mike North of the league office.
