The C button is called the “connect” button which wirelessly transmits signal to the dock to allow you to play on your TV without having to dock the system itself. This feature will be useful for the DS lovers because it will allow the switch 2 to act as the second screen while the TV is the main screen.

No analog triggers would be a big disappointment, imo. Holding out hope that a Pro controller will have them or Nintendo allows third-party support or a wireless official Gamecube controller. If they are trying to get more ports from PS4/XB1 then I would think having the same controller features would make that a lot easier. We'll see.

A couple years ago I traveled to SC to visit my father-in-law, and there was a pretty big gaming convention near by that I unfortunately wasn't aware of at the time, but I stopped by a random game store and sold some rare complete in-box N64 games to buy a switch for my niece, who had no idea and was waiting in the car outside. But in this game store, I was standing next to two guys who seemed to be close friends with each other, and I'm almost certain one of them was you! He looked and sounded just like you, and I had only ever heard your voice before, and I instantly recognized it, but I didn't want to look foolish, and I thought to myself, Why would he even be here in random podunk South Carolina? So I didn't ask if he/you were a KZbinr. But you made a comment about my tapping on the counter and the type of beat it was, and I was just tapping to the "If I only could make a deal with God" made popular again by Stranger Things at the time. It wasn't until I got all the way back home that I saw on KZbin that Metal Jesus just went to some huge convention with all of his friends in the same podunk town, and then shortly after that I finally saw video of your face on GameXplain and thought to myself, damn all the things I could have said to you, and I blew it by just tapping nervously while hoping I had enough to get her that switch. lol Anyways, love the show-not to be weird, but love the voice. My long running theory is that it's going to be called Switch Duo and that it will be able to connect two switch's (either original or duo) together for DS\Wii U style duel screen experiences. The C button is for connecting them wirelessly. The top USB is for connecting them directly. Also you'll be able to dock two switches at the same time and combine the processing power for enhanced graphics on a TV because the duo on its own won't be much more powerful then the OG switch.

I don’t know why people are comparing this to the Wii U. Because it’s so similar to the original…except for the fact that the Wii U was completely different to the Wii what with its main controller being a huge tablet. The issues that the Wii U had were lack of any games around launch, a gimmick that didn’t interest people, and a fading interest in the Nintendo brand late in Wii’s life. I expect the Switch 2 to have a very strong launch year lineup, and it looks like there will be no “gimmick” beyond what Switch already did, which isn’t really a gimmick but rather just a successful design. There is a fading interest in Nintendo right now but it’s a million miles from the extent it was in 2011 and 2012. So regardless of anything else, one thing this is definitely not like is Wii U. Let’s wait and see what Nintendo unveil.

I can't see Switch 2 not supporting USB headphones, seeing as Switch 1 does. I remember playing Fortnite with voice chat through my Switch (using USB headphones through a USB-C adapter) back in 2018. I've also used USB headphone support to attach my wireless headphones (with the USB dongle) to the dock, so I can listen to music while cleaning.

Well, I thought the same thing, but the first switch used tech that has been massively improved my now. The chip is from 2015. The screen may as well be. Meaning there’s a 10 year gap between the hardware which may lead to a less noticeable quality gap between OLED and whatever they will put in the Switch 2

I completely get why they’d just build off the success of the Switch and give us more of that (and tbh I’m not sure how they could possibly have gone back to a console without Switch-style functionality, atp)…but I’m honestly still bummed this won’t likely feel like a truly new piece of Nintendo hardware. True. And if the are very small accessories they could easily break off because there isn't any securing system on the device like the pin holes on the bottom. I think the top port could suggest that there is indeed a new "mode" where you can play on your TV while not docking the Switch 2 and then you could charge the Switch 2 from the dock with a cable and that's why there is a connection on the top to make it more streamlined/accessible/easy to use.

The C-button is to open the Nintendo Clock, só you can use the Switch on your table as a Clock, just like the Game and Watch
