Steve Luhm remarks: "Covered many coaching changes/searches/hirings over the years. No inside info on BYU announcing Kalani Sitake extension at 9 p.m. on a Saturday night, obviously. But guessing he had another offer on the table and that school wanted an answer. BYU moved quickly to keep him." Do you agree?

Kalani Sitake loves BYU. BYU fans love Kalani Sitake. He's not fishing.
@aBrewster29Ай бұрын
He’ll do what he’s gotta do to get the resources needed to compete though. And if he can’t get those resources then at some point he will have done his “service” to BYU in turning down suitors and may take an opportunity elsewhere with a higher ceiling like Bronco did.

There are almost no sport commentators that understand the loyalty of people like Kalani Sitaki and Matt Campbell. Coaches who aren't trying to get more money don't compute with Drake.

There is no way Sitake is leaving BYU , For a couple of reasons. First, there are not a lot of schools that would want his religious, Christian, love your teammates, kind of approach, and he knows that. His perfect fit is at BYU second he’s a humble guy and I don’t think money is his big motive. I Believe he loves, and thrives in the environment he is in, he’s making plenty of money for his needs and wants. Finally, with the success, he has had there and the difficulty involved in replacing him. There is no way BYU is going to let him go. He has brought them great a claim and they know it. Hell will freeze over before Sitake leaves BYU.

Still shocked that Gundy's God-at-OSU status didn't give him 1 more year before calling him on the carpet. Then again, every conference game OSU had, I thought: They have to have at least one game of looking like their old self and getting at least one conference W.
@brailsmtАй бұрын
BYU fan, ARod needs to be on a hot seat. We were good this year in spite of ARod's offense. His game planning and play calls are questionable, and have been for years. I'm fine with Sitake, but he needs to figure out how to get his teams prepared to play an entire game. They come out flat or quit early way too often.

Kalani wants to coach at one school and he is there. The school does not want him looking so they made sure he was extended and his assistants get new contracts as well. Trying to keep it intact.

Leading the nation in interceptions cover a lot of shortcomings on defense. Getting off the field on 3rd down specifically and being below average on qb pressures and sacks. Blitzing the portal for defensive linemen is the top priority this offseason. Offensive linemen is a close second.

How much do people value the school. How much is enough money. College sports is out of control. Maybe we should be taking care of the poor and needy and not thinking about the millions we can make in self greed.

I am old enough to remember Gary Crowton. He was was a full joke. As for LaVell BYU gave him a full life time offer to head BYU as long as he wanted. Bronco I followed him throw all the teams he headed. That man only knows how to quit teams. He has never been fired nor pushed out. He just thinks the grass is greener on the other side. Now his with Utah St. And they will soon learn this too .BYU has never had a fall. BYU is and will be BYU.

Collegiate sports is a double edged sword for us loyal fans at G5 or FCS unis. It's a sport (rah, rah) when times are good and getting better in the win/loss column and bowl game appearances. Then, it's a business when it comes to hirings, firings and coaching offers (wah, wah). Loyalty be damned. Oh well.

Aaron Roderick is a true QB whisperer!! Years of experience in winning programs as an Offensive Coordinator. He would make a great Head coach somewhere other than BYU. Come on, I’m selling it as hard as I can, because Kalani is too nice to fire him. We really need an upgrade, but we gotta sell him somewhere first.

I lived in Huntington, WV for work during the hay day of RichRod. He was the native son who was just a bit less popular than Country Roads. They had a street named after him in Morgantown!
