A 19 year old might legally be an adult, but she was still just a teenager, while ha was a grown ass adult, and lets not forget that other than being extremely younger than him, she was also a huge fan of his, which just contributed more to the manipulation. From everything they’ve said, especially Swift over the years, it was a toxic and emotionally abusive relationship That’s what it really boils down to, he messed with her mind and heart and wrecked her self esteem. There was also a significant power imbalance with her being barely considered a legal adult at 19 and him at 32 with a lot more influence and life experience than she had.
