They still have this image of him back from his infamous playboy magazine interview. That's why they still despise him. Does anybody else feel like they could've made a great couple if they'd just met later on? It sounds like part of him really still loves her. Back in 2009 it was a bit too big of an age difference in my eyes (Tay being only 19 and John 32) so it was kinda awkward. If they dated today at 26 and 39 that's not too bad, and she has grown and matured since then.

yeah, not at all in this case. especially in a 13 year age gap at 19 and 32. listen to her recent song about him, would’ve could’ve should’ve. which she recently wrote at 32 years old. it’s the 19th track on the album. she writes about him “i regret you all the time.” “living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts, give me back my girlhood it was mine first.” she feels like the relationship literally took away her innocence and she’s still traumatized from it to this day. she also describes how he tried to wash his hands of her after he was done using her. “lord you made me feel important, then you tried to erase us.” it’s a common theme in all her songs about him. though he seems so charming, it was always more about him seeming important, and HIM finding talent in his girlfriend in dear john, she describes, “and maybe it’s me and my blind optimism to blame… or maybe it’s you and your sick need to give love then take it away.” and the bridge- “You are an expert at sorry, and keeping lines blurry, never impressed by me acing your tests.” he was very manipulative to her, and was messing w her and playing games the whole time. which he has a reputation of doing to MANY other women too. he’s 45 and dating a 23 year old right now. there’s a reason people were telling her to run as fast as she can, and a reason he has the reputation he does. it’s not normal.
