Run Blue Iris as a service

In this video I explain how to set up Blue Iris (security camera software) to run as a Windows service. The benefit of this is you don't have to have the app open for Blue Iris to be running. Also if you reboot the Windows PC, the service will automatically restart. This is especially helpful if there is a power outage.

I run mine as a service too! 100% nice that you can reboot the box and it runs with out you logging into windows and launching the software.. I ran mine in a VM it ran good, but now i have it on one of those Dell SFF with a 8 cor xeon and 32gigs ram..

Can this run on my desktop computer I use for day to day tasks as long as it stays on? In other words does it need a dedicated stand alone system? Thanks

Sir , on an individual cameras settings option , on the video tab for that camera , near the bottom of that menu there is a GPU setting option , and , the drop down has 8 choices , ranging from 0 to 7. I have searched the pdf file for blue iris current version , and , I can not determine what that setting is for. If you know what that option does , and , can share the information , I would be grateful. Thank you in advance. Mike
