Just set up a Blue Iris system 3 days ago and it is a dream come true for me. It is simply amazing. Everything I wanted from a CCTV system and more. Been running security cameras for decades and this is the leading edge of evolution. Love it.

wow thanks a bundle. after years of mucking around with pesky port forward system. this worked 1st try !! - and i simply dont undersand tech. i got a new router and port forward would not work for whatever reason - this is great thanks again

Just wanted to thank you. I did multiple optimizations and still had high CPU usage even using GPU for AI and having a good CPU. In the end the problem was the number of images sent to AI (at 10:15). Now performance is acceptable with my 20 cameras.

8:30 The min confidence in this screen only affects the alert in the database, not the push notifications on your phone. You can actually set a seperate confidence level for that in the alert actions like this: "person:70". That way you can have higher probability alerts sent to your phone, while the database keeps records of lower probability ones

Great Video and Future User , i would love to build a Silent PC for Blue Iris with 3 IP Cameras , what would your recommended specs be? i will be using SSD for complete silence and would love a small form factor, would i be able to use a mini pc like an apple mini or some other SFF PC. I have really appreciated you videos they are very well composed and very well delivered. Today, 10-19-2024 is Your Blue Iris Codeproject working like it did with deepstack. I have just about given up. Issues started about Dec 2023 when we upgraded to the latest version of Codeproject. I stopped getting animal alerts and triggers. When I tried the solutions I got from BI. I would get triggers but there would not be a subject(person, car) in the video the jpg would show the subject. Again thanks for your great work. I just wanted to know if you were having issues.

You should teach how to add a second camera because once one cam is running, yu can't right click and get the same menu for adding a camera!

So frustrating, I am on 5.9.8.2 and there are a number of changes from your 5.6.7.3 Version. Some things are gone and other changed.

Again your working with a older version, things do not match I really wish you would redo these with the newer software.

I rarely see anything new, innovative and useful. Thanks, this is truly special because with port forwarding there were daily attempts caught by Malware to access my cameras. Let’s see if that goes away. Install was easy.

Awesome tutorial and video - thank you for the help! I did notice when the ZeroTier VPN connected on my Pixel phone, it automatically turned off the Google VPN. Not sure if it's possible to run two VPN's at the same time, but it was a nice level of security when web browsing on my phone. Thanks again!

Great tutorial, I like many others have been trying to get remote access for my BlueIris environment for some time. I did not want to do port forwarding and didn't want to deal with the hassles for a neophyte setting up a VPN. I won't dispute the VPN value. I followed these instruction to the "T" and got my environment setup in short order. In reading the comments I noticed that a couple people had problems and the one thing that I ran into initially was that it worked on the my WIFI, but not when on cellular. The issue was I had to turn on VPN in my iPhone settings. After turning that on it worked flawlessly . I was just on vacation and had perfect access to my cameras the entire time. Thanks

Got it to work! Had issues connecting via wan through my mobile network but solution was to turn off windows firewall :)

After setting the sub stream on the camera and Blue Iris. How does Blue Iris know to use the Main stream for recording? Is this done by default once recording is setup?

I encountered an issue with BlueIris not recognizing the ZeroTier virtual adapter. After some research, I found a forum post mentioning that it worked without the virtual adapter selected. So, I went ahead and installed ZeroTier app on my phone, configured BlueIris app with the correct WAN details, and it worked perfectly!

Under Clips & Archiving, if I choose to Delete video's after 30 days, will it also delete videos I've protected as well as the unprotected ones? I don't want my protected videos deleted. I just upgraded BI after several version releases. What a bad decision that was. So many unnecessary changes. My suggestion: Only upgrade one version at a time and test the software first.

Question: Can you set a layout for 12 cameras and have 6 spread out over two individual displays in full screen?
