My family is from Ecuador and my wife’s family is from El Salvador. I know the history of USAID in our parent’s country. What I hope they change first is not allowing people to buy soda, candy, and cookies with that card. We're literally helping people get obese and diabetic with tax money.

@@walker1984- Exactly! This is how it works (I’ve seen it first hand) - A grant is received from the Federal Government. The entity sets up a committee of consultants to study how to allocate funds. The “consultants” are friends, family, and political donors. They are paid huge salaries, find expensive office space, and hire office staff paying them well. They plan retreats for planning sessions only traveling first class and staying at 5 star hotels. They eat and drink at best restaurants. In the end only 5-7 percent goes to the end user.
