For anyone who has run track and field on a competitive level, especially as a mid distance to distance runner, you all know what that intro means. It’s going to hurt, it’s going to suck, it’s not fun, but you love it, you can’t live without it, and you’re going to give it your all. I was dropped from my d1 team due to injury two years ago. Now I’m 21 and finally recovered I’m getting back at it. I might never be as fast as I was again, but I sure as hell will love the process. Run on everyone.

Been running for a little over 47 1/2 years. Had a ruptured Aorta in 2006 and lost one kidney. At age 69 I'm doing well at recovering and I'm not giving up. I still enjoy running; it's my life. I say to any of the runners, don't give up.

I've also been running for 47 1/2 years, but I'm only 62. I've always been in perfect health and don't plan on rupturing my aorta! As of today, I haven't missed a single day of running in 10 years, 8 months. I plan to live longer than my great-uncle did, who died at 101.

I consider myself as a late bloomer in running.I just found running as my exercise every morning and becomes my passion overtime.Now at the age of 34,I am going to join to a half marathon for the first time and dreaming to run a 42kilometers.Some people try to discourage me about running because they said that it will be very risky on my joints when I age,still I dont care.
@dannyjacobs22805 жыл бұрын
I'm an even later bloomer, at age 51, and just started about 3 years ago. I hear the same thing, constantly, from people who sit on a couch! "Running isn't good for your joints!", is all I hear, and it's always those who are out of shape! Haters are always going to hate! I'm running my second marathon in a couple weeks, and run around 50 miles a week, and feel better than I did in my 20's! Just keep at it, and don't let them discourage you!

As long as you aren't over weight, have good running form and don't run too fast or long, your joints will be fine.

There is something so simple and special abiit running. I tried a lot of different sport thinhs, I was never good at it and it never felt right. The one thing I was always good at was running, because I didnt do it to be good at I did it and still do because there are a few minutes afrer feeling gross and after wanting to stop that I feel absolute free, a feeling I sont get anywhere else.

@Ed-tc2pg5 жыл бұрын
I was messing with you. Me personally it's a love hate relationship, I was born with shit knees, wrists and feet but still love running and sports, so I endure a certain amount of pain and nagging injury. Many runners lose weight and gain stamina. Many runners face personal demons when the pain or distance hits them hard. Overcoming it makes them mentally strong. To run start slow and short working on proper form. Once you have form down pat make sure your nutrition and sleep is in order. Then depending on your goals either increase speed or distance. You can do both but never at the same time. Listen to your body and avoid injury. It's ok to take time off when you tweak your knee or pull a muscle. Over time you will get the hang of it. You tube, running clubs, high-school and college coaches and that guy you always see running in your neighborhood all can provide you with a wealth of knowledge. If you want to hit the gym to get big do that or if you want to run do that instead or maybe you like sports, heck maybe you like to paint or build cars it's all good. Just what ever you do, don't spend your life sitting on the couch eating doughnuts. (I'm not the content creator, take my advice with a grain of salt I'm just some random sarcastic guy on the internet who trains for the hell of it.)
