@tabularasa777514 күн бұрын
Indeed , over watering is frequency not amount you give but at the same time you don't ever want coco to go completely dry . Soil is ok for that but coco isn't. Coco is pretty much hydroponics
@dirigoelectric4 жыл бұрын
Took me 3 grows to learn big pots were stupid, even though everyone told me that’s what I needed. They can’t dry out if the pot is too big. It also allows ec buildup.
@johnjohson53603 жыл бұрын
Could you elaborate on this?
@dirigoelectric3 жыл бұрын
@@johnjohson5360 yes. The size of pot should be in proportion to the size plant you’re going to grow. Using 20 gallon pots on plants you only veg for a month is a waste.there are some charts out there. For us we veg about 40 days from rooted clone, so we use 5 gallon pots. Works very well. We feed daily.

your 100% i let all plants to slight droop,i dont get dead roots,or rot,cuz of it,i top,so i get huge side roots cuz i let them dry,its not to desert,but a slight droop,you will get more roots,and longer,i had to after 40 days in veg take out of promix,and put into 20 gallon fabrics,just too much dense roots,so wet,and dry method is great,just run hands along edge,to fill in soil gaps so ya get a good watering

I like to think of growing the plant like a drag race. If you've ever seen a dragster standing at the line with ten thousand horsepower they can't apply the full amount of fuel but if you see it half track they're dumping so much fuel on it there's flame coming out the exhaust. So think of the plant is drinking like a baby when it's a seedling and eating like a 35 year old guy doing concrete work in flower You can do the wet-dry thing if you need enhance your root system in the media that you're using but I believe in weeks 4 5 and 6 to give it as much water as it'll take
@agremen22945 жыл бұрын
When you feed to drain ...You can feed less but feed every time! The plant get more and give you more yield! Btw she can stay total dry 4 days ...with out drooping :)

@moparman73675 жыл бұрын
What PPM's you put in is no indicator of whats going to come out but could help if you think overfeeding is an issue.Hope that helps a litlle.
@riverdoe76693 жыл бұрын
Ppm is very useful in coco say you feeding a 600 ppm your runoff 1400 ppm 500 scale per day that means it’s not eating all the food and salts left in the media you flush with light mix of food til you get in a area of your ppm your feeding matches the output it’s that simple keep it in the ranges and it’ll flourish
@Crazyman12123 жыл бұрын
@@riverdoe7669 I started feeding my plants every watering with flora liquid 2 part nutrients. 300ppm - 500ppm for veg and 600ppm - 1100ppm for flower( those measurements are not including the ppm of my tap water) . The only time I had an issue was when I went to above 1200ppm and got nutrient burns.

So what do you do with the run off? I am using 2 gallon bags right now going to 5 gallon at some point. When I water and get runoff do I just leave it to be soaked up by the roots or dump it or recirculate it. I did not put any medium at the bottom of the bags and am using a 75/25 ration of coco coir to perlite. Thanks

dump it, pots left in the runoff usually causes lockout or roots dying! bugs too! i use the same rations u use 75/25 coco perlite...good shit!!!!!

I have my pots on stands and shop vac it out. Excessive moisture can cause high humidity and mold.

I wouldn't let it sit for the pathogen/pest aspect and also it may re absorb back into the medium/roots . I use a mini £12 water pump for a standard drill connection with 2 hoses on each end . Push the drill trigger and it sucks it out into a bottle 👍

Not for coco grows. Drying out causes salt build up and will damage roots because coco shrinks when it dries out.
@mancavetheater12403 жыл бұрын
I can dig it because coco should be watered once a day or every other day because it soaks up nutrients and has no nutrients already like soil does.

He is right and wrong, modern techniques use crop steering nowadays. We now use terminology such as vegative steering and generative steering. Veg steering we want smaller dry downs and generative steeering bigger dry downs. Look Athena feed charts they can explain this better. This is outdated info modern growers now have vey strick dry back ratios.
