Hi Brett. I love your content and I’ve been here since the voiceovers no face cam days. I love what you are doing and I’ve loved seeing the production grow over the years. I just wanted to suggest that you consider sponsorship opportunities outside of gambling and alcohol. Some of my very close loved ones struggle with addiction and it can be hard for me to see those things advertised on your amazing platform. Obviously, you have bills and loved ones of your own and I completely understand why you do what you do, I just hope you can consider this point of view in the future too.

Great analysis Brett, as a chiefs fan i have 2 main comments. 1. Despite overall being one of the healthiest teams in the league, all of our running backs have been injured off and on for large chunks of the season. Going into the bengals game there was a real scenario where the going to need to activate 3 RBs from the practice squad. Leaning on the run game is hard when a lot of your guys are currently banged up or likely on a snap count to ease back from injury. 2. Thank you for bringing up that the things were currently bad at we were still bad at when Tyreek was here. I don't know why every single post or video analysis about the Chiefs passing game being down brings up Tyreek. They literally just won a superbowl without him. It genuinely feels like sometimes that we're the only ones who watched football last season

As a Patriots fan, this is what I feel the Pats or any other team struggling on offense should do. In a league built on speed, go heavy. Multiple tight ends, a true fullback, and an RB group that includes someone whose specialty is yardage in between center and guard.

@BreadstickAssassin

Difference is Pat doesn't have Gronk. He has a TE who isn't open as much as he used to be because mahomes doesn't trust his WRs to throw to anyone else so Kelce is getting doubled alot. Not to mention Kelce has had some injuries this season
@dh617
@dh617 5 ай бұрын
@evanranger6497 Gronk was always hurt and showed up in the playoffs. Kelce is only behind Jerry Rice in yards, TDs and receptions in the playoffs and leads all WRs and TEs in NFL history in yards per game in the playoffs. I'm sure Andy, Kelce and Mahomes have saved plays and energy for the playoffs and we will see another gear. If not, it's going to be a short playoff run
@Ledzepnut
@Ledzepnut 5 ай бұрын
@@BreadstickAssassinI don't believe it has anything to do with not having Gronk, it's because Kelce has been the biggest threat and the opponents know that, as you said he's double and triple teamed, he's being banged up on the line, which is all because the wideouts have been terrible this year, Mahommes doesn't trust anyone of them, excluding Rice, but hopefully they can get their act together for the next 4 games when it counts, start catching some damn balls, which will allow Kelce to start getting open again. Of course as the man said, run the piss outta the ball, get the defense to crowd the line, then toss a few down the field, hopefully a freaking WR will catch it and make a play

Your comment about the Chiefs / Andy Reid treating the run and short passing game as the same thing makes me remember old school, 1980s 49ers West Coast Offense. Bill Walsh treated the short passing game doing the same job as a run. It's one of those things that helped Roger Craig be the first player to do 1000yds receiving + 1000yds rushing in a season. But it worked for them in those days because the 49ers at that time were wildly stacked.

The Chiefs leaning on their run game from an execution and creative standpoint mixed with key situational play calling is essentially what helped bring them back from their game against the Eagles. In that second half it was a healthy dose of Pacheco Gap Scheme runs, force the eagles into uncomfortable singe high man situations, and take advantage of that in the passing game.

I mean fair. But to see a team so good at a run game but so against running. It’s weird. More 12 and 20 personnel sets. More easier horizontal screen game with runs. But less responsibility on the pass game. Part of being a good offense is the ability to adapt and this is the equivalent of pushing a square block into a round hole.

So you're telling us the team who gives up on the run first despite having wild success with it in the game loses? I will say the Chiefs run offense will have a green light on the ground against Fangio's run defense (and considering the injuries on that side of the roster they have sustained) than the other way around. Spags may be in his element if Mike McDaniel gives up on his run game early.

The funny thing about the Chiefs is that Andy Reid has been in this situation before. He took the 2003 Eagles to the NFC Championship with James Thrash and Todd Pinkston at WR by creating a hydra out of Brian Westbrook, Duce Staley, and Correll Buckhalter. Come to think of it, they signed Terrell Owens the next year, and the closest thing to TO in the league right now is DK Metcalf, who is currently missing a head coach. Brett, would you be so kind as to get out in front of this one and make sure it never happens by predicting it? Pretty please?

KC is too thin at RB and OT to invest heavily into the run game. Pacheco really just came back, CEH has an injury history, we lost McKinnon for the year, and anyone else hasnt really gotten any reps this season. Smith (LT) is just coming back from injury and is still probably injuried. Taylor (RT) is just trash and awful in the run game. Our backup LT, Morris, who has been playing Smith's absense is now hurt and he also was having a lot of welcome to NFL moments against good pass rushers.

Classic Andy Ried coaching - it goes back to the Eagles. If you listen to ANY caller from Philadelphia during the 2000's-2010's It's always been "RUN THE BALL."

Pacheco is a beast, we really need to lean into that more. If we run a lot more, It would also open up the passing game a bit.

If they win the SB it will be on the back of Poppa Check for sure. Great breakdown and seems like Andy Reid watched and took notes 💯

I feel like you are completely forgetting about last year. When they had the #1 offense without Hill.
