Run the proper 2-Stroke Oil for your machine!

Not all oils are good for bikes with power valves or trail bikes. Here we see what happens when not running a good clean oil in just that case.

Ive been running castor in all my bikes since Noah hammered the first nail in the ark and never had these issues.35:1 and 40:1.If a piston looks like that its a person who is too scared to rev their 2 strokes.

I agree. I’ve run gallons of super techniplate through mine. I just saw this video and it kinda rattled my cage a bit. Went out and pulled the pipe to check the piston for caking oil. Looks friggin mint. Also there’s a nice thin coat of oil on everything.

Yeah koltz has really good oils, I also use supertechni plate also I’m my rm85 40:1 and that oil does an amazing job. No fouling plugs, does not smell like crap, does not make your nose go zeee zeee waaa waaaa, and last of all good lubrication

You'll be running that a lot harder than a trail use bike so it's getting hot enough to flash off the yamalube ams it's clearing out rather than loading up and soaking your packing

927 is best for race karts where its constantly above 12000rpm and particularly if its a aircooled motor which usually runs hotter. It's a great lubricant , but a dirty one that destroys powervalves easily

I called Maxima up when I started using my YZ250 in the woods. They recommended using K2 and lightening the mixture. If the KTM owner had done the same, he wouldn't have had an issue.

m1ke2001 Yeah that stuff is pretty thick. Not only that but the flash point is I believe around 420 degrees while oils like Super M are at 280, 240 for K2 and I believe 220 for Super M Injector. Gotta love the easy cleanup and tuning on the semi synthetic and fully synthetic oils too. I love Super M. Carbon wipes off with a paper towel like a dry erase marker with that stuff.

Probably ran it like a granny bogging in high hear at low rpm possibly. Ive had 4 pistons changed after running it and NEVER looked that gunked up with build up. Yikes!!

Lucas oil mix and Lucas 10W-40 we ran in our 2009 Monster Edition KX65 it had 21 hours when we bought it, i started running all Lucas Oils and we ran it like that completely stock up to 112 Hours, when we tore it apart we couldnt believe how spotless everything was! rebuilt with a Wrench Rabbit Kit and its now at 184.5 Hours and going strong! but in new Race bike his 2022 KX85 im running only Kawasaki Performance Oils

I just started using VP T2 in my 18 YZ250X and love it. I was using yamalube at 40:1 with mixed results, I was hesetent to go leaner in the mixture. I am a vet rider coming from the days of 32:1

Just remember gang, going leaner in the oil to gas mixture requires you to also go leaner in the fuel/air mixture in the carburetor. Everyone seems to get this wrong. So remember: if your going to go to a leaner oil to gas, you need to also go to leaner pilot/needle/main. Otherwise your leaner oil to gas will cause major rich conditions.

@@jjames5928 yes it seems kinda counter intuitive but think of it from a viscosity standpoint. Thicker verse thinner fuel. The less oil to fuel mix the thinner the liquid…..the smaller the jets it needs to properly fuel the engine(which in a 2 stroke fuel also acts as a temperature coolant). If a bike is running rich and blubbery adding oil to the fuel can help the bike run leaner because the added oil will thicken the viscosity of the liquid allowing less of it to make it through the fuel jets. Obviously proper jetting is preferred over changing oil mix ratios but it all matters and the oil mix makes a huge difference.

Try Schaeffer’s two-stroke oil. Amazing results in my 562, no problems at all and saw is seven years old. I also run their four stroke oil in the vehicles. A true fully synthetic oil it comes out of St. Louis, Mo. Take care and be safe.

Im on amsoil interceptor for my rotary, got 2 gallons for oil fill. Now for my 2 stroke small block and 8v92 detroit desel 2 stroke i bought several gallons of amsoil interceptor. the 8v92 needs low ash so i dumped in 4 gallons of amsoil interceptor ands OMG what a difference, she starts better, runs cleaner ans has a bit more power. the oil burn rate is a gallon a day under a lot of load and rpm! I have rune 4 gallons on quicksilver full syn thetic TCW3 in s 6-71 detroit with amzing results, stays cleaner, buns cleaner and runs with a bit more power and less smoke! Berats shell rotella any day besides the high cost though.

Thanks for the good words-- Redline is a pretty good oil and I doubt the reason it is running rich. Jetting or maybe worn our etc-- check the Pro Circuit Jetting specs page and then see where you are at first. Then as far as oil there are many good ones- find one you can get easily locally so never out and dont have to switch-- Klotz R50-- Maxima K2

I agree saber 80:1 is the best, I run a ktm 200 with lectron carb and my bike runs flawlessly, I spoke to a local Amsoil rep and they actually test that oil all the way to 300:1 .. Since I made the switch I’ll never run anything else in my bikes

I've run Saber 90:1 without any issues. Mostly trail riding with some higher speed stuff mixed in. Top end looked great at 85 hrs. Never an issue.

I switched to Saber a few years ago and have well over 150 hrs on one bike with one top end done at 100 hrs and it looked great. Run it in my two other bikes too and not had any issues at 80:1.

I have a 2018 beta 300rr only use castor oil at 50:1, rings stuck at around 150 hours. Power valve was dirty but no other wear at all. New piston and clean up and now about 50 hours on new piston and still running castor oil. I have tried other oil but nothing smells as good as castor.

I would go with what the oil company says. 32:1 is archaic when shitty petro based oils were the norm. 40:1 is even from the era of early mostly castor based 100% synthetics. Todays stuff is fortified ester base stuff very advanced. Plus I run smartcarb sc2 I’m not gonna gum my expensive carb up with 32:1 or even 40:1 like a dummy.

How about oil ratio for type of riding? 30 to 1 with that oil would have probably been fine for desert racing with an aggressive rider. 60 to 1 would have probably been good for a mellow trail rider .

Now when you say trail riding are you talking about just slow play riding? What about those of us who race in the woods like GNCC races? I also use vertex Pistons in my YZ250 and I use 927 with shell v-power gasoline and 32 to 1 and to be on the safe side I change my Pistons at 30 hours. I could probably go lighter on the oil to maybe a 40 to 1 but I'm very hard on my bike and I also race Motocross in vet B 30 + class for both woods and Motocross

927 is for hard race applications and should be blended from 25:1 to 33:1. Using this oil fir race purposes where you’re on the pipe ripping it on a motocross track or road race bike or kart. Synthetic esters, preferably premix only will give you clean burn and a thick cushion of oil to prevent piston scuffing.

Less oil means more gas, resulting in a richer fuel mixture. You may want to jet accordingly if you run less than 60:1 or more than 40:1.

It being brand new should have come with one, in my personal opinion run it on motul 800 @ 40:1 - 50:1 but check your plug after a few hours and see what it’s telling you, most bikes come jettes from factory very rich, so you may need to re jet your carb to suit riding/oil, but motul 800 is a jaso FD and full synthetic ester based, it’s simply one of the best out there, far superior

@@donalddonaldson7211 been running 32:1 for ages but recently started running 40:1 (onviously re jetted to suit) as I main trail ride, even ran 50:1 for a brief period on motul 800 the bike ran better than ever, but I just felt too uncomfortable running the 125 @50:1, although many reputable engine builders said it would be absolutely fine asking as I’ve jetted correctly to suit

@@MYNYDD-MOTOright on. The biggest thing is jetting accordingly. I have a husky 250 2T it says to mix at 60:1 which I think is crazy and it’s blown up now so there must be something I can do better. As for the 125 i stock to 30:1 like the manual says and stuck a smaller pilot and a larger main and left the needle alone and she rips in this Texas heat!

How do you feel about the Amsoil dominator ?? 50:1 on a 2013 ktm 250xc ? I was running a full synthetic Shafers oil and i loved it but am not able to find it anymore so I've been playing a little with different oils to find the secret elixir for me, and I don't like the smell of klots. So I tried the amsoil and I'm just not 100%sold i also like an oil with color like red or blue cuz i have a clear tank and the yellow just looks lame and my gas jugs are opaque and I have 4 stroke bikes as well so I like to be able to differentiate.

Yes although we don't run that oil, I have a very reputable source who told us that that oil is very good to run in that bike.

Techniplate is a dirty oil even on a 125 that got rung out all the time - HP2 , no issues and ran for way too long , longer than it should have !!
