Just bought a 800 ferris. Let me tell you, best mower I have ever owned. Rides awesome. Would recommend a ferris if you are looking for a zero turn. Great mower.

Do you recommend this for 1 acre? I prefer the speed, agility and time saving aspect and I think this would last me a lifetime.
@RunBikeMike3 жыл бұрын
You could get 1 acre done in no time. You could go with the 52 and still get it done in link 30 minutes

@@RunBikeMike Thank you. I was looking into that as well but the wider stripes would look nice. I have a 54" tractor (I know that I am not talking apples to apples) but already having 54, I felt 60" good.

Thanks for the great review. I did notice, however, that you still have the bolts in your front spindles? I just bought mine and have yet to use it and according to my owners manual these bolts should be removed and replaced with grease zerks. WHY they didn't do that at the factory is a mystery? But you might want to look into that. I plan on having mine for many years and I'm a bug about maintenance.
@RunBikeMike4 жыл бұрын
You are correct that a grease fitting goes there. I am not sure why but they don’t want you to keep it installed. I double checked and in my manual it calls to install the fitting, then grease it then uninstall and reinstall the bolt. I would love to know why they don’t want one installed all the time. I will do some more research on this. Maybe because they only recommend greasing it annually.
@stepsidelandscapinglawnsol30934 жыл бұрын
This is so you don't break the zerk fitting when mowing. Its in a position where you can bump into things. Also, you don't have to service that fitting much due to its nature. Doesn't overheat

Great review I have the same model only have 25 hrs maybe do you ever notice a unleveled cut ? like the deck might not be leveled I took mine back to where I bought it they went over it an said they could not find anything wrong I even took pics an sent to Ferris they called me but nothing ever came of it I noticed sometimes when I’m mowing the one chan on the right side will have slack in it. Maybe it’s just me being picky or not use to it’s mowing quality my last tractor was a cub with a 48” deck an that cut grass great Any info would be appreciated thanks
@RunBikeMike4 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! Make sure the back of the deck is 1/4 inch higher than the front of the deck. This will allow air flow to pull the grass up and push the grass out. Also make sure all grease points are greased and oils points are oiled on the deck. The chain having slack seems odd but maybe not. I will have to watch mine when I mow again. You should checkout my other videos I have made for my mower. I made a chute blocker which I will have part 3 of that coming up, installed a light, and a hitch.
@784rick4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the quick response I will check that out this weekend. I’m thinking about getting one of those shoot blockers I switched mine over to mulching an bought the kit got tired of grass blowing out an ending up in flower bed I will check out that video. Also thinking about one of the rollers you can get or make to give the grass the lay down look t mounts to the back of the deck once again thanks

Yeah a roller would be awesome. Put down some nice stripes.

Perhaps check your air pressure. I’ve seen a variance in air pressure between tires do this.

I did an an there was some difference I corrected same problem in the end I spent the day measuring the front an back of the deck an set it 1/4” difference from back to front now it mowes great

I'm looking at literature from Ferris right now and that has the weight of the isx800 as being 1197lbs with a 61"deck and 1119lbs with the 52" deck.

I went to buy the ISX2200, but they couldn't get it in for almost 2 weeks. I ended up getting the ISX800 Kawasaki 61" delivered the next day. After a single mowing, I must say that I am happy with it, but the traction seems lacking compared to my old Woods Mow n' Machine, which is a 6 wheel setup and a little heavier. I am thinking I need to let some air out of the tires.

I’m weighing buying one of these vs getting a Scag Patriot. Same dealer carries both here. Ferris is more expensive, heavier, and maybe smoother ride. Scag has more users around here, and possibly more accessories available. Any thoughts?
@RunBikeMike4 жыл бұрын
I personally haven’t used a Scag. But I know they are good. I will say this if you mow for over an hour a week get the Ferris. The suspension is so worth it. It has saved my back. I feel great after several hours of mowing with it. Check out some of my other videos to see some of the things I have added to it. I really love that mower.

How’s the Amazon suspension seat? The one I was looking at is the frame, and put your seat on it. Lot cheaper than a factory suspension seat.

It works really well. I am sure it is not as good as factory but like you said some icy cheaper.

@@RunBikeMikereading the reviews, people are saying the safety switch had to be removed, did you experience this?

No you just have to route it correctly. When I bought it people were talking about that same issue. I found that if you take your time you can route it so it won’t be too short. After a season and a half it is still working just fine. Although there are time I wish the seat switch didn’t work 😂

Thanks for the review! I am picking up my 61” ISX800 with Briggs (non EFI) this week and can’t wait. Your video made me feel more confident in my decision, and I’m curious how the factory seat is going to work out. I have 5 acres that are rough and bumpy so I’m not sure if I’ll have to upgrade yet. What was the recommended schedule for changing the oil the first time?
@RunBikeMike4 жыл бұрын
I really like the factory seat. I added suspension to it. As for the 1st one I did mine at 10 hours. Congrats and I am sure you will love it. Make sure the deck is 1/4 inch higher in the back then the front. Sometimes when you buy them they don’t set them correctly. This is the recommendation from Ferris and makes your cut so much nicer.
@michaelbailey85434 жыл бұрын
RunBikeMike is that a hard adjustment to make, or should I just ask them to do it before I get it?

@@RunBikeMike My Citation had one problem, at 6 hours the seat belt failed to recoil and it dropped into the left hydro fan and belt but the dealer replaced everything very quickly. I'm going to put some kind of guard there so if it fails again it won't wreck the fan, pulley and hydro hose.

2:57 Looks like there's only a $2000 price difference between this and the IS2100 this year. www.ferrismowers.com/na/en_us/products/zero-turn-mowers.html

Nice I would guess because the 2100 is an older model now. The 2200 is the replacement for the 2100. But also you might check the EFI versions of both. The price difference might be larger.
