Interesting that the rod is up in this installation. Typically, you install the rod down to ensure the piston seals are lubricated. Are the shocks covered by the 5-year warranty?
@JsCrazyCutzLLC8 ай бұрын
The shocks are covered under 2 year unlimited hour or 4 year 400 hour warranty but, these shocks were still functional ( not busted or leaking) These shocks just got a bit sloppy after we put a 1000 hours on them.

I have the same mower what made you change them? Was it a ride difference or cut height off? This machine has 1000hrs but is new to me so not sure how it should ride however the cut height seems off tends to scalp in few places look forward to your reply
@JsCrazyCutzLLC7 ай бұрын
Are you referring to your mower scalping? 🤔 If so, you may need to adjust your shocks to a much stiffer setting 😉☝️or you are simply cutting to low for that particular property 🤷 probably start with checking the tire pressures ( 15 lbs ) in rear ( 20 lbs ) for the front , then verify if your cut height is correct by measuring from the blades to the ground while parked on flat level surface.
@Dm65-gpy7 ай бұрын
The shocks are the highest setting and move a lot. I ordered some new trunnions for the front . Then i will go through and set everything . What made you change your shocks?
@JsCrazyCutzLLC7 ай бұрын
@@Dm65-gpy They didn't have the support that they had when they were new. After a 1000 hrs , they seemed a bit too soft ( mower flopping around a bit ) even with the springs set as stiff as possible. I could actually notice a difference after replacing them.
@craig4926 Жыл бұрын
i have the new stihl rz150 thats basically similar to the ferris. im honestly thinking of replacing the shocks with steel bar because my property is very rough and when i try going around things like trees, rocks it leaves crop circles due to the flexing of the suspension so the deck sinks and cuts the grass lower
@JsCrazyCutzLLC Жыл бұрын
Sounds like your deck is un level or you may have uneven tire pressure 🤔 The Patented suspension is designed to work in concert with each other. Let a Ferris dealer look at it and make sure everything is as it should be.

Wow! That's some pricey shocks. lol I think the back ones have a higher charge of gas to make up for the weight of the motor. The front ones should have a lighter charge so they are not to stiff. I bought a ferris 2100 in 2008. Still mowing with it in 2020. It's a mowing machine. I just cant figure out why more companies hadnt followed this shock design. It's so smooth. I guess maybe cut quality is not as good as some but I would rather save my back than have a little better cut. Its cuts fine tho. I have a little over 1000 hrs on meter. Engine is 30 horse vangaurd big block which was made in japan ,now they made in georgia. I know my big block is second to no small engine made.i feel like The mower will fall apart before the engine goes. Deck belt lasted 900 plus hours and only reason it went was one of idler puller bearings was bad and caused wear on belt.

I absolutely agree! There isn't any mower that compares to the Ferris when it comes to ride and handling 😉 I'm pretty sure Ferris isn't gonna let the patent expire on their suspension design. I can honestly say after using Ferris for the past few years that it is my first choice of mower. Nothing rides as well as Ferris. The Vanguard engines equipped with Oil Guard are superior in my opinion. It doesn't have the best cut quality compared to ExMark or Toro but,the cut quality from the Ferris is consistent no matter what grass type ( wet or dry) ( thick or thin) grass! The Ferris cutting deck doesn't care! I will always have Ferris in my arsenal of mowers😎👍
