If you have the Thumb Pro, what are your thoughts on image quality? It could help other pilots make an informed purchase decision.

I really like that it uses an SD and external battery. I'm on the fence about buying this one, but it's definitely promising!
@OneManUnmanned2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the external power source helps alot for testing or even as a power source on your drone(if the original harness goes missing). The small size and weight makes it perfect for lighter drones. I haven't tried it on a larger quads.

@Seii-FPV I have not flown it yet on a 5inch, but it’s only a matter of time till I do.

I still can't decide between this one and Runcam 5 Orange. Having a battery seems nice for bike rides, skiing etc.
@OneManUnmanned Жыл бұрын
I really think it depends on your situation. I can definitely see the advantage of having an on-board battery. The Thumb’s big advantage is its size and weight, allowing to be mounted on small drones.

Very nice video. I am going to make a review on this camera too. I found the FOV to be very limiting, so I replaced the lens with a wider one
@OneManUnmanned2 жыл бұрын
Haha.. awesome! Those were my thoughts exactly.. I'm hoping they can make an attachment lens to increase the FOV. Looking forward to see your solution.

This is great, especially since it has no stabilization. I wonder how you managed this. I have the same action cam, mounted on my 5-inch drone, but the footages lack this kind of smoothness. What kind of tune do you have in the quad? is it some Betaflight preset that is more suited for cinematic shoot? Can you also share your camera settings like the fps-shutterspeed-iso, please?
@elmono3939 Жыл бұрын
Well, not sure why is everybody claiming these cheap camera manufacturers include set of ND filter for "motion blur." The primary reason for inclusion of ND filters is - that you are dealing with fixed aperture, fast lens. Under normal circumstances, and in most cases, your footage would be overblown. So you put on ND filter and it cuts down on light and you end up with acceptable footage. Motion Blur is a by-product and "free-bee" you get. It sounds better to "sell" ND filters on "cinematic" Motion blur rather than tell people that ND filters are included because of a fixed focus fast lens. That's the real reason. Thank you
@OneManUnmanned Жыл бұрын
I don't think they come with the camera, it's available as an option. The filters are not only for "fast lens". If it's bright outside, even a slow lens can becime over exposed. The camera will compensate by increasing shutter speed. That's where these come in to play.

Just purchased one and gonna be strapping it to my race quads so I can finally have some sweet HD footage. My GoPro10 is sitting around gathering dust so I am selling it
@OneManUnmanned2 жыл бұрын
Haha.. The GoPro image is nice, but just too heavy. You'll Like the image of the Thumb Pro, especially with the ND filter.

@@OneManUnmanned @CurryKitten just did a video showing the results of throwing some footage into Gyroflow - really encouraging results. Yeah I was super pumped for the GP10 but it's just too damn heavy. It kills the battery on my Protek 35 and even the 5" Apex feels like a jumbo jet with it strapped on. I'm not doing production quality work so it's overkill.
@OneManUnmanned2 жыл бұрын
True, unless you're shooting professionally, the Hero 10 is overkill. I'll check it the Gyroflow video. Thanks

Yeah, they are one of the retailers that have them in stock, but shipping is unpredictable with Banggood. Hope you get it soon.. It's a wonderful camera for the price.

Do you think a BETAFPV Cetus Pro would handle this camera?
@OneManUnmanned2 жыл бұрын
I don't know for sure, but I would think it's too heavy. Maybe the original Thumb would work.

yesterday i found out its not just the best fpv cam, you can also put iton a bike helmet and use it as a aktion cam. i simpls got a diverter to 5v what i had laying around from my gopro, and so i can use up to 6s. but i use a 3s 5000ma ;-). the battery time is unbeatabal. i whent on a 2 day bike trip and still had 70% batterie left hehehe.

I have the runcam thumb pro, but its low light capability isn't great at all... plus adding any nd filter even in the brightest day the video is really dark to be used, ( i record at 2.7k 60fps, auto shuuter,iso 100)
@OneManUnmanned Жыл бұрын
Understood..i haven't really flown in low light situations. Your camera settings can make or break the image. Try increasing the ISO from 100 to 200 or 400.
