Hello Nathan I am currently training for a half marathon. Do you recommended running more mileage in a week. I am currently going from in between 72-73 miles on average it slightly varies. I have been doing this consistently as my standard mileage regardless of the race I am training for so I am always in ready shape. I am going to try and increase it up to 85 miles a week. I am going to try and do this over the next the next 2 weeks sticking to the no more than 10 percent increase rule. I ran 80 last week. Do you think this will make me a better faster and more efficient runner ultimately making the race I am training for giving me my best chance possible. I have to do next now is to run as fast as possible for 13.11 miles. I run 10 miles a day so the distance will hopefully feel easier followed by the miles I regularly put in should transition into speed and success. It is followed with a Threshold run and a 15 mile as my long run at the weekend. I stick to the alternation between a fast and slow pace. One week fast the next at my easy pace etc. I am coming from an endurance background which you already know so this is what I thought was a good number I can handle for my long run to be longer than someone who is training for a half marathon. if I decided to do no more than 18 miles at the most I would consider.I am going to try and shot for a 1:20 half slightly optimistic maybe? but I will be running in The Vapor Fly 3s. It has been around 7 months since I ran that 1:26:22 by the day of the race. in conversion for a flat it would be 1:24:40. Do you think Nathan this is a realistic a time based of my running mileage training history and experience or maybe I can achieve it just running 70. What mileage do you recommend safely to run but get the best results from the information I am informing you on. If I run more will this time be more likely. Thanks

Hey Luke. Thanks for for the support. Yes, based on the information you provides here and your fitness level I certainly think you being able to break 1:20 is doable. This particular event you can certainly drop SEVERAL minutes. You are doing awesome man. Keep me posted on your progress

Hey coach, can you do a video about overcoming illness? I’m running Manchester marathon at the end of April and have been ill for a month now with no sign of let up and I’m wondering how illness can affect endurance performance 🤔 Take care and keep up the content 👌🏻
