Hey Nate! Thanks for all the great tips for running marathons faster. I improved my run in the Farsund marathon, by 9 min. and 59 sec. Ran 3:18:17, and won the race. Pleased to come back like this, after a long injury.

Outstanding work dropping that 3.18.17! VERY well done taking off nearly 10 minutes off your previous best THAT is what I'm talking about! 💪💪💪✊👊

I am 47 and just ran a new PR at the OC Marathon running a 2:42:50 following your training plan so I know that what you are sharing works. Great info, Nate!

Superior effort. 2.42.50 is no joke. Appreciate your support and VERY well done. 💪💪💪💪

I just ran sub 3:16:24 (lost 2mins due to bathroom break, so sub 3:15 FFS!!!) and the critical long run workout I found helped me was 13k steady (goal MP +60sec per KM), 5k marathon pace, 2k steady, 4k M pace, 2k steady, 3k M pace, 2k steady, 2k M pace, 3k steady. And each of the goal pace sections were done progressively faster as the distance dropped. This gives you 36km, with 14km at goal pace or faster. Where breaking up the sections reduces the stress, so I could continue to run 7days a week. If I wasn't 50yrs old, maybe 14-16km continuous at goal pace wouldn't be an issue. But risk vs reward at my age. Once I get into the meat of a training block, I move the true LSD to my 2 weekly recovery runs, where I'm doing 90mins+ at goal MP +90secs per KM.

Congratulations on breaking 3:16.24 Tim, THAT is what I am talking about! Yeah, that was a sub 3:15 you ran for sure..been there done that and I totally get it (2011 Monumental Indianapolis Marathon for me..lost a good 3 minutes off my finish time). VERY well done having run that fast at 50. I see you going sub 3 in due time. Keep up the great work.

What would you say is the best prediction workout for your current marathon pace? Can 10x2k 1min rest tell what pace you will be able to sustain?
@rundreamachieve7 ай бұрын
that is a solid indicator for sure...i like doing 10 mile runs at GMP and if it feels relatively in control I know I'm ready. Keep up the great work out there Kristo 💪💪💪💪👊

Hey coach, I’m trying out a new schedule where I do an 8 day split for my running. Is this fine? The reason is because I want to give myself at least 1 rest day after every 3 days of training in a row, will this work fine? Thanks!
@rundreamachieve7 ай бұрын
I think that is a legitimate plan of action Dino. Keep up the superior work.

Hey Nate what’s your take on maf training solely for a marathon vs a marathon prep? Would an 8 week block of maf prior to a 16 week marathon prep be a reasonable option? Thanks for all the content, it’s a daily listen for me since finding your channel.
@rundreamachieve7 ай бұрын
Yes, definitely. You never want to go into any training block without some descent fitness built prior to. Keep up the great work and wishing you continued success Andre 💪💪💪
@andrecardoza9667 ай бұрын
@@rundreamachieve yeah I currently run about 25 miles a week, I’m looking to bump it up to about 35 - 40 for 8 weeks of maf. Then start the 16 week program you got on your website

Thats a legit plan of action right there. Andre. Lets' goooooooo!

Hi Nate! What do you think about doing long runs out on the trails? When I'm out on mountain trails, my pace is automatically at least a minute slower than target marathon pace but that's because of hills, uneven terrain, etc.
@rundreamachieve7 ай бұрын
Trails are great for long runs as well. Yes, you may need to disregard pace on them for sure due to the terrain, just focus on effort and feel, NOT heart rate as it will be all over the place running trails. Keep up the great work DD out there 👊👊💪
