I got it right when it came out! I was a little disappointed that the voice actors had changed from the original one, but watching your video made me realise that I could just switch the voices to Japanese instead, bypassing that odd feeling entirely! I'm looking forward to playing through this adventure again 😁

@ellaiish Yes, I'm glad you found a solution for the voice acting. I see so many people endlessly complaining about it - even "boycotting" the game 🙄 - whereas the devs have explained that decision. It's not the end of the world.. I wish more people took a stance like yours.

As a longtime Harvest Moon and Rune Factory fan its such a delight to see you talk about them. RF3 is a favorite of mine and I still havent gotten the switch version! I really need to, but I'm definitely getting the Golden Wooly version.

I think the characters are the best part of rf3, they are all so unique and they all have their own quirkiness, like you said, nowadays it’s difficult to find characters like that, they are more bland unfortunately

This game has such a special (pun not intended) place in my heart, and I am SO happy to see such a faithful enhancement of an already-phenomenal title - and with such lovely attention to the other materials in the box, too. RF3 specifically feels like such a Fall game to me, so it's perfect timing...for us in the States, anyhow 😅 maybe this time around I'll figure out who to marry: I've never had such a hard time picking a spouse in any farm sim as I did in the original. One thing I've always loved about RF are the character designs, but especially with the heroines. I normally never care about the "canon" choices in farm sims, but Shara's is so distinctive to me. And she didn't just feel like your typical, tutorial-esque flower girl either!

I'm glad more rune factory content is being released. Rune Factory 3 was my first game in the series and my favorite, I played it co-op a lot with my brother as a kid. Your videos are always a blessing in my subscription feed. Thank you for the informative video!

the way i feel about 3 is honeslty that it was the best entry point into the series among the 3 ds games it was the one i started on. rune factory 1 and 2 felt .. rather clunky to play, very slow. it's actually quite diffucult to go back to them once you've played 3 or 4 because of how much they speed up the moment to moment interactions with combat and farming and so on.

yeah honestly those two need the special treatment way more than 3 to update the gameplay to be more in line with 3 and 4.

I'm not sure Marvelous would even consider resurrecting them now. There honestly seems little point and their resources are probably better used on new projects.

I just adore your videos. You got a great taste in games. I have been introduced to several of my favourite game series from your videos. Atelier, Trails, Rune factory even SMT. I am a 42 year old mum and most people don’t understand my love for gaming. I managed to get my 65 year old mum into cozy gaming on the switch. She started with animal crossing and Wylde flowers. I tried introducing Rune factory but she didn’t like combat. I have bought her Fae farm for upcoming birthday. She now plays daily. It’s such a relaxing hobby. I much prefer sitting down with a great game over tv. I used to love books, but I just get too tired to read after a long day. I wish you the best of health, and I’m looking forward to your next video.

I have to admit playing Rune Factory 3 DS recently I do like it but honestly Rune Factory 4 will be my favorite forever. It's my 2nd Rune Factory game, and what got me into the series. Though, definitely will get RF3 Special due to it having a few QoL stuff that RF4 had.

Hey Britta, first of all great content as always, the game seems really good. Unfortunately the background looks just AI upscaled, i’m so mad when developers choose this simplistic way of rejuvenate a game. At least the upgraded characters design is really cute ❤

Yea .. I'm someone who used to work in and manage a small business, so I tend to see it from the angle of expense and "is it justified"? So I can understand that decision. Also .. those backgrounds were really decrepit 😬 on the DS game. It would've taken maybe a complete remake of backgrounds. And that you simply cannot justify for a niche game, old, remastered. The market is now flooded with classic game Remasters/remakes! Poor ol' Rune Factory is not gonna sell enough to warrant a big spend on the backgrounds. I'll keep an eye on sales figures when we get them!

@@Food4Dogs I am quite like it so far. I live in an idyllic rural town, so I have a real harvest moon feel (though with rice and lotus paddies instead of turnip and flower fields). I survived my first brutal summer of 33 C and up to 85% humidity every day. I booted up Rune Factory 3 Special and am using it for Japanese practice. Amusingly Raven's name in Japanese is Tuna, doesn't quite have the same ring to it

I know you said you have stayed away from reviews. I read some before starting the game and I’m glad to say they didn’t taint my experience with this game. A lot of people commented that it is bare bones and you might as well skip this one and simply play Rune Factory 4. Having played RF4 and RF5, I actually find this one might be my favourite in the end. I love the characters, setting and funny enough the colour palette used in this game.

I bought the European LE. I feel cheated now. But I also still have all my Trails games, so not getting to RF for a while. But the game looks really fun. I still need to play more Harvestella. Harvestella is a fun game. And I can have a gun! I love my shotgun! I bought my version of the LE form gamestop Germany. I also got Rf 4 Special and want to get RF 5 too. These games look so fun. But I am also a huge JRPG nerd. And I love to see older people play games. I want to be like that too in my old age. I hope I have lots of fun with RF 3 special. I like Woolies. Woolies are friend shaped. They are so cute. I need a plushie of them.

I didn't "forget". You seriously can't see him? I had to put him in the back row (he's on the far right, you can just about see him sticking out there). The problem was the cut-outs for slotting in the figures. They are poorly done, and some figures just didn't want to fit into certain slots. You can actually see this in another unboxing video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGakhHaFppubia8 Starting at time stamp 05:45, at 06:48 the figure on the right basically falls out. So I used trial and error to see which fitted securely where. It was a bit annoying. Anyway, that was the best configuration I could come up with at the time - there are definitely 5 figures there plus the woolly. I really needed to show the diorama to the camera at an angle, for that to be visible - but ofc to me this wasn't apparent since I could see everything!

It happens! Sometimes things don't progress as we hoped. That's why I always keep a save file going back to a previous point that felt like I was doing all right. Then try again.

6:50 if you hide your face, most cameras will then focus on the foreground. lots of cameras nowadays are programmed to focus on human faces. it might be a setting you can change as well.
