So alot of people ignore Runescape's lore by just spamming spacebar and grabbing the rewards, but there are a lot of cool storylines that are sadly unfinished and forgotten by Jagex. Personally I hope this series can shine a light on the forgotten questlines

What in the world are you on about, the Mahjarrat questline is still ongoing and While Guthix Sleeps is coming out in the near future, plus Desert Treasure 2, which is also part of the same quest line as this quest.

More fun lore tidbits: the puzzles on the second floor of the temple correspond to the four spell types of the Ancient spellbook: Smoke that has to be cleared out of the Furnace room, Shadow that has to be dispelled by lighting the braziers, Ice that has to be melted to restore the fountain, and Blood for healing Pentyn with memories of his family..

Another great episode as always :) Something that might help clear up one thing you missed, the old soldier was from Avarrocka, the first version of what we now know as Varrock. Another thing I do recommend, after Desert Treasure I think it would be a good idea to do the Curse of the Empty Lord miniquest to understand everything up to that point.

Dude, I can't express how much I love this series. The approach from someone who's only vaguely familiar with the quest idea and going through it thoroughly makes the storytelling so good. I've never been that interested in the entire lore of the quests, but J1mmy got me into it quite a lot with the by release series. However, this puts an even better spin on the idea. That, coupled with the insanely good publishing schedule, this has hands down become my favourite OSRS series. Please keep going, this is awesome.

Love this episode because I can see your passion with OSRS lore! I played through all the RS3 quests and I love the lore in that game too, though they do have very pivotal lore moments in world events in-game which can be a little confusing if you weren't playing at the time.

The Zarosian lore is my favourite in Runescape. Can't remember how much actually gets covered in the Marjarat storyline but it basically covers the rise of Zamorak at the expense of Zaros, which directly led to the formation of The Wilderness, Morytania, and most of the ruins in the desert and digsite, as well as having a major impact on quests you'd never expect, such as demon slayer.

Lol you didn't lock yourself out of anything. If you say you'll dedicate yourself to Zamorak, he just makes fun of you and refuses to teach you spells anyway. This questline is great! I honestly feel like quest helper makes the game worse by turning quests into "mindlessly click on X Y Z" instead of "read and understand the story the game is trying to tell". I wouldn't recommend a *fully* unguided run to average players, but I would 100% recommend going *mostly* unguided.

I use Quest Helper to get things done in a reasonable time, but I personally love reading the dialogue. Even if I'm not engaging as much with the mechanics by having the solution on-hand, that is. I can't imagine why anyone would want to practically skip over all the hard work developers do to create quest dialogue.

There are quests that are simply unfun or very frustrating without a guide, such as Mourning ends 2, or where the dialogue is so bad that you're better off not reading it, such as Rat catchers. For those quests I would recommend the quest helper. Or if you have already completed a quest on another account and just want to autopilot through it to get it over with. But in general I agree, a lot of quests are worth doing or at least trying out yourself before using quest helper

I agree. My philosophy for both myself with new quests and new players is to try your best to do the quest without external help, then ask someone in-game (like a clanmate) or turn to something like the wiki for a bit of help. Quest helper should really just be for second accounts to speed up the process once you have already digested the lore.

My favorite part of this series so far is how quickly you fell in love with the Mahjarrat series. Its my favorite too, any and all Zaros lore has so much weight to it. OSRS may not have an official storyline but as far as I'm concerned, the Mahjarrat series is it.

Fun facts: Avorracka is old name for Varrock, so the tortured starving guy was a soldier from Varrock. There are two types of Mahjarrat, Zamorakian and Zarosian, I suggest you remember some of the names of the Mahjarrat and the gods for cool lore during desert treasure 2, they don't really directly matter in the quest, but it's just extra cool things you can learn about if you're interested.

I think when you're playing through the quests one questline at a time, you get an idea of what's going on a bit quicker. I remember this story line building up bit by bit over time and ending up really invested when I started connecting all the dots.

I actually don't know because it's been years since I did enakhras lament, but it looks like it to me. Very entertaining episode! Yeah, he's a bit rude, that fake sculptor guy.
