That Hazeel look is pretty new, they redid it for Secrets of the North. He used to be a lot more of a skeleton. The Mahjarrat aren't explicitly evil in my eyes, it's just a reflection of their culture. The strong survive, the weak perish. They're fleshed out a lot more in RS3. Also all of the drinking-related quests are very early RS days, when the boys who coded it were young and, I suppose, out drinking a lot. British drinking culture can be like that.

I forget if it's OSRS or RS3 but at one point, a quest dude asks if you could get him a beer. Your character explodes at him, ranting and raving about having to track down the blood of a virgin, gold of a chicken or whatever else to make you a proper drink, ENOUGH. The dude promptly just says "what? no, I was just hoping you would be a slightly polite dude and just get me a freaking beer. Right there, on the other side...of the freaking table. Just pass me it will ya?" So yeah. The designers realize just how often beer is the solution to quests. It's right up there with Rope and sword.

For reference, Saradomin is the god of order and wisdom, and zamorak is the god of chaos, destruction, and personal power. So it's more of a law-chaos split.

This may be Mandela effect speaking but I'm 99% sure a lot of these early quests were changed afterwards to fit the Mahjarrat story. Hazeel wasn't originally a Mahjarrat, he was just some warlord and his model was just a pale dude with horns. Same with the other Mahjarrat, their models were completely different and I don't think they were called Mahjarrat back then

I've been stuck on Hazeel cult for ages, not because it's hard, but because I know the outcomes and I feel like I want to support the cult but I don't want to accidentally kill the dog. I think you missed him, but Scruffy as actually an NPC in the world who disappears after he dies, and you can find his grave nearby the house after you kill him :(

Up until recently the dog didn't exist as a NPC, he was just mentioned to have died in the dialogue. I helped Hazeel back in the day in the OG RS2, now I could never do it just for the dog

you are literally the best OSRS creator in terms of a ton of different aspects and its a shame you haven't taken off even more than you have. I absolutely adore this series and your commentary on it. The concept is both unique and interesting and the way you go about it explaining your thought processes along the way is quite nice. One thing that really stands out to me with you is your actual interest in the lore of the quests you are doing. Most content creators with any questing in their videos spacebar through the whole thing and just view it as a goal to get through while you actually seem to have a genuine interest in what's going on and how it connects to the world overall which is really nice to see. I personally have always loved the runescape lore from both games so watching you slowly uncover the story is a gem and a half. Unfortunately I'm in a bit of a tight spot with money atm so I cant support you like some but you genuinely are my favorite creator and your videos are top notch. Keep up the great work please!

RS3 has a lot of great quests. Pretty much everything from WGS to Sliske's endgame is gold and I hope to see it added in OS. The stuff after Endgame until Extinction is fine I suppose. Pretty much since that the writers have dropped the ball, almost all the new quests are garbage IMO

The mahjarrat are basically a race of Skeletors. They are all, at the very least, self serving. Though some, most notably the Zarosian mahjarrat, do seem to be at least amiable towards the player.

If I remember right, all of the Mahjarrat are either followers of Zamorak or Zaros, but they're not necessarily all malicious or evil. Further complicating things is that Zaros is often depicted as pretty evil but he's more neutral/selfish in my opinion.

I would say all the Zamorakian ones are more or less evil, at least if they are similar to their RS3 counterparts. The Zarosians are much more morally good aside from one, but even they aren't entirely trustworthy. I don't know what Zaros is like in OS but in RS3 he is a dick, he awakens the Elders' eggs and abandons the world to deal with the mess he created

@@SoupRoutine The reason Zaros is my favorite of the RS pantheon is that, at least in my opinion, he's the god that's displayed the most change and growth as a character. The version of him that was created on Freneskae was utterly indifferent, utilitarian and amoral, and it led to the devastating Zarosian conquest of Gielinor and the creation of the in many ways thoroughly dystopian Zarosian empire. The version you actually talk to and read about in the fifth age, though, humbled by Zamorak's betrayal and the collapse of his empire, is far more human; he acknowledges that there _is_ such a thing as good and evil, regrets the devastation he wrought when he first came to Gielinor, and expresses discomfort with the power of "loyalty" that Mah gave him and what that aura has done to his followers. He's still a bit on the utilitarian side, but he's shed a lot of his indifference in favor of a genuine belief in the power and potential of mortal life... at least until he apparently said 'nah fuck it this world is doomed' and fucked off into Erebus in a moment that really feels kind of out of character for the new and improved humane-Zaros. It's a real shame that the continuation of his storyline has just sort of gotten stuck there, dead in the water for like 5 years and counting with no further word or information.
