Ranking the Old School Runescape Achievement Diaries from Worst to Best
It has been a while since the last edition of Runescape Rankings but I always have a blast making them! This time we go through OSRS Achievement Diaries and rank them based off of the usefulness of their rewards.Mostly based on the enjoy-ability of the boss fight, the money making potential of the boss, and the long term enjoy-ability (suprisingly not the same as short term). Obviously this list is going to be subjective and we won't agree on everything, but hopefully you enjoy the video and leave a kind comment with your opinion!

I feel like when it comes to actually unlocking everything the Hard diaries are by far the most valuable. The Elites may expand upon that, but the Hards are the ones that unlock most of the things like choosing destinations on obelisks, more runes in barrows chest, elite void, bone crusher, etc.

Karamja hard is where I made huge money in the gem mine. Mined to 99 there probably the most gp profit to 99. Think I averaged 400k-600k perhour

To prevent confusion, note that 'X% change to save herb life" doesnt mean it prevents it from dying, you get an X% extra change to harvest more herb from that patch before depleting.

For ironmen ardy easy is a 10. I use the cape teleport more times than any other piece of equipment.

Something I think you should have mentioned/included in your weighting is the fact that the Lumbridge and Ardougne diary items also provide very easily obtainable prayer bonus for the back and ring slots for mid levels and Ironmen.

Desert elite is one of the most useful ones for clue hunters. A lot of steps are in the desert and the unlimited teleports to not only Nardah but the Kalphite hive (both of which are right next to carpet transports) means you can be at any desert city within seconds. Free carpet rides makes it even better so you don't need to carry coins around.

You missed some of the actual items that are really good. The Rada's blessing 4 and Ardougne cloak 4 are two pieces of BiS gear slots which you looked over entirely. Those two alone I'd put an extra point in each.

You forgot in the Kourend Diary you get the Rada's Blessing 4 which I believe is best in slot for prayer bonus (going from +1 to +2).

@@time502 and unlimited teles to the mountain + the ability to wear any boots inside the mountain. It also had a 15 percent chance to catch double of anything, including karambwans and minnows. Lemme tell you, as someone who banks all bones, that tele plus my con cape makes it damn worth it.

Why is the mole locator ranked so high compared to the Kalphite queen shortcut and ropes? Both are basically essential for pet hunting their respective boss. Certainly Desert 1-3 is useless, but the unlimited Nardah teleport for the ornate pool effect + 10% hp, and the KQ shortcut make Desert 4 pretty good in my opinion.

Wtf r u writing about. Mole is more money and much more afk. Not to mention it only requires dharock set and a rock cake, also only requires a hard diary not elite. KQ is not afk in the slightest, requires an item switch and even with elite diary requires banking, something that is very delayed with mole.

In the dessert ones, i think the Elite is kinda OP . Unlimited teles to Nardah where you have the statue you can pray to fully restore your stats and there is also a bank. Pretty nice if you dont have a house and dont want to use duel rings.

I like the ardy diary (even just getting easy done only) for the cloak that gives a free prayer bonus. Also, the Varrock armor is great for 1 def pures.

Never understood the ardy easy 10% chance to steal from stalls. Like if there is no guard or shop keeper there, isn't it always just 100%? Can't say I've ever randomly failed stealing from a stall.

Honestly, I really almost 100% agree with you on your opinion towards each diary. I also agree it's going to be person to person depending on your goals, but overall that's how it should be, so to see people dislike the video for your input is kind of saddening considering all you're doing it expressing how you feel about it. Just thought using the wildy lever is probably fastest way to get to ardougne on a new acc. Run to edgeville pull,pull and your there ready to complete the easy diary for the cape. Love the vids as always keep up the work

Nardah is overrated. In poh you have access to bank/pvm teleports seconds away from pool, 8 more hp at the cost of heal + teleports is not worth it in most cases. You'd be better off using angler to overheal, especially for pvm. Also, if you die in your poh (from delayed pvp hits/venom), you keep everything, don't need to waste time traveling back and picking up stuff.

Probably should have mentioned the BiS items from Ardy and Kourend. Also, while the Nardah Statue is overshadowed by the POH, it is still noteworthy since the teleport is now right next to it and it does give a health boost. And Kandarin's Elite Teleport is a pretty big deal; just as important for Clues as the KQ Shortcut is for KQ.

Houses do most everything nardah can do, and if you want to go to nardah really bad their teles have been around 3000 gp for the last year (until a recent spike that I can't be sure will continue). I don't think it is that much of an improvement, although it does have a use.

Looks like many people think I undervalued this one. In my experience I've never really needed to go their, since my house does most everything, and nardah teles are typically 3k, so I didn't feel it was a great improvement but I can see how others would depending on the situation!

Can someone tell me how to get the kudos requirement for the hard diary? It's been my only requirement for months since I did desert treasure.

There are multiple quests you can do, and turn them in to the Varrock museum. It's located East of the castle, and South of the chapel. You can also find and clean specimens at the digsite. And finally, once you have enough kudos, you can go to fossil island and find fossils.

I think after Tombs of Amascut it be safe to say the Desert Diary has been buffed slightly with the Nardah tele and Pharoah's Sceptre charges but overall I think people now after past the hype of ToA. Pharoah's Sceptres for example are back down to about 2mil after skyrocketing to like 7m, however, Nardah scrolls are going strength to strength with an all-time high currently of 16K a pop from previously being 2K each. Is it better then Karamja? It's debatable with the raid now. Would be interested in your thoughts @Smallxplamp

If you like doing herb runs and don't hate yourself get the hard fremennik, you can put a stony basalt tp on your house and save like 2-3 mins of running. Other things to notice: the kourend item will be your best in-sloth for the ammo sloth if you don't use range and that the varroc armor also procs in the guardians of the rift essence, making the 2 best diaries even better XD

Kandarin Diary benefit to herb patches was explained wrong. It doesn't help its chances against disease (which would be mostly useless with Ulteacompost); It gives the patch a chance to not lose a harvest life while you're harvesting. This is the biggest way you make money from herb runs. Can't recommend it enough.

Diaries are about the long term benefits aswell, for example yes, shilo gem mine tele is just ok if your getting a slayer task from duradel but it's EXTREMELY useful over the course of 99 slayer and a absolute must have... Just saying the benefits of a lot of diaries get better and better the more you use them.

Isn't the desert elite nardah tele extremely useful as it puts you next to an altar that acts like a rejuv pool from a maxed house and boosts your hp like you have eaten an angler? As for Karamja Gloves, the main thing they offer is the ability to sell items to the store over alch value. There are still locations you can sell items at alch value without needing to do a diary so it's not massive, but I'd say it's actually better than the mole drops with the addition of birdhouses.

He also neglects Tokkul in this regard, as you will only ever want to buy onyxes/obby armor with the gloves on, ignores the rezz usefulness in Jad Tasks (You can double venge suicide on Jad if you haven't used your rez, otherwise you don't have to worry about afking or w/e), and also bonus tokkul from Jad/Inferno tasks. My mans has never done a Jad task it seems.

Forgot the unlimited teleports from fremennik elite for people farming vorkoth.... smh really useful as it's one of the best money makers in game. Easily 10/10 rating eith the noted dk bones. Also for the desert diary, you are able to have a permanent rope for the KQ as well as the short cut. I'd say that boosts it a little bit cause it saves space and time when killing KQ.

personally i think that the ease to get the lumby elite (it requires lowest stats) bumps it up quite a little in usefulness. sure, to the end gameit might be less critical but it might be one of the only diaries NOT requiring endgame levels to get.

I would say the Easy Falador diaries giving access to that shortcut can be useful if you like collecting Wine of Zamorak. The shortcut allows for faster Banking at the Rogues Den than needing to run or teleport to Falador. Especially in combination with a Games Necklace.

Honestly the Ardy Easy diary is amazing as a mid-level player. Turael boosting? How about a tele that puts you right next to a zoo with wolves, scorpions, bears, penguins (counts for bird tasks), and monkeys. The point of Turael boosting is that you’re trying to get it done quickly, right? Also, Vannaka gives Hill Giants and the Cyclops at the Ardy zoo counts for that. Plus, at low levels, you don’t have many teleports close to an altar.

He made quite a few mistakes/ was biased as hell/ did a whack rating for a lot of the diaries. Still, gave me an excuse to familiarise myself with the diaries (want to do lumbridge elite after I get this last 1.1m RC xp for 99)

The kq shortcut I legit one of the best rewards. Triples the amount of kq kills per hour at least.

KQ profit per hour can be compared to the mole which has way less requirements and is easier to do. Unless you're on a pet grind. KQ is not a good boss. Which makes the shortcut useless.

list is fair but i would say give a rating per tier over the usefulness of each tier, so rank easy to a different easy so on and so forth because this way you are not rating an easy to an elite. only other point i think you could make is you listed some rewards that are items and counted those as a plus ie. varrock plate and didnt count the fact that ardy cloak is a great cloak for prayer or the headgear is a light source that you never have to worry about, yeah you would have to have it in inventory but you gave the shield a plus but you also have to have it with you.
