I have no idea why Morey is hailed as a good GM. He had 1 great deal back in 2012 that landed Harden in Houston followed by a bunch of terrible deals. Sam Presti, who lost harden in that deal, has since made a lot of great deals and has built a great winning culture in OKC. Embiid seems to need the entire season off and most likely longer. Injuries I believe have effectively retired him. No “ramping up”, no rehab, no additional surgeries will get him back to competitive level. The times he was on the court this season seems to have been thanks to injections but all they do is mask the condition which may result in additional damage when the dude needs to be off his knee.

Great point re: being old enough to watch a full career arc. What's happening to Embiid right now reminds me so much of Amare Stoudemire after he got microfracture surgery on his knee. Young Amare was one of the best athletes I've ever seen, then the knee went and he was never the same guy before retiring early. Same with Blake Griffin, same with Chris Webber. Embiid is bigger and more skilled so the floor will always be higher when he's out there, but getting and staying on the floor at all becomes its own battle. Most guys can't play the last 5 years of their career on one leg like Tim Duncan did.

The Sixers did this to Embiid. Embiid should have missed the rest of the season and rehab the knee properly last year. The Sixers and Embiid opted to have surgery in order for Embiid to make it back for the playoffs. One decision was to increase his chance to play the current season and the second option was to lengthen Joel's career. They chose the option for short term gain and got eliminated in the 1st round anyway.

Joel has given good years but the worst time for me was 2012 Andrew Bynum's time here. Hope something can be done soon . Not a sixers fan so when I said this last year I was called a hater (which I am a little lol but not for this) but from my own sports medicine background it was obvious. Bone on bone can’t be fixed. Surgery may prolong “play” but retirement is around the corner.

We gotta shut him down for the year. I’m tired of checking the injury report to see if Embiid is going to play or not each night (even though I know he isn’t) at this point I’d rather just sit back and watch Maxey hoop and I guess PG is out there too. Damn ts sucks but Embiid had a reason he wanted to play in the Olympics and I 100% respect it, but now we witness the unfortunate consequences 😢

Joel did sprain his ankle in the christmas game. In warmups he did a turn around fading 3 and fell on it. And while working out to get back from that his knee started swelling

He is immature, out of shape, and stealing money at this point. He is not as weak as Ben Simmons, but he is getting close to that level with the terrible contract that Morey gave him. Also, he never played as a true center. 76ers leadership never had the balls to tell the guy to play like a real center, crash the boards and get some damned offensive rebounds. he Is a terrible offensive rebounder because he is flat out lazy, and wants to stand around and shoot 3 pointers. He had no business playing in the Olympics what so ever. 76ers leadership did not have the balls to shut that down either. He has done nothing for this city as he claims he has. He has been made super rich by the city, and owes us his early retirement so that he does not ruin this team for another 5 years. This is terrible, and so is Embid and Morey!!
