Thanks for this episode Steve! Have you tried the Escalante 4? How is the width for your bunion?

I'm definitely old school. My favorite shoes were the Brooks Chariot and the Asics DS trainer. The NB 880 is great, I also think the Brooks Ghost and Hoka Clifton fits in this category.

My budget shoutouts go to Reebok's Floatride Energy 5 (picked up a pair for $40) and Asics Noosa Tri 16 ($135). Both simple, great performing shoes with some pep in that sweet spot 6mm drop for me.

Do agree: Floatride Energy!

Adidas SL2. Probably the best daily running shoe of the year and when it first came out adidas had the price at 100 on launch. It’s a 130 new but often on sale. New balance 1080 v13 on sale for about a 100. Favorite recovery shoe

Shoeflation definitely hitting every year and I'm absolutely one who is trying to extend my current rotation longer and longer without going too far towards injury. New balance or brooks have been that durable option for me.

My son (26) is very hard on shoes. Puts a lot of walking (and sometimes running) miles on concrete. Out of these shoes you talked about, which one would you say is the most durable ie won't wear out in three months? Or maybe there's a winner you could suggest from your own experience that is not part of this video. Thanks!

The Halloween version Saucony Ride 17 is on sale right now. How does that compare to the NB 880?

The 860 seems to be seeing much higher praise vs the 880.
