Meghan is from Santa Clarita and recently graduated from nursing school. 12-hour shifts and being on your feet for long periods of time come with the job, but for Meghan that meant pain and discomfort.
Making matters worse - keeping an active running schedule also became a problem. Running was a passion for Meghan but her arch was causing her so much pain it was often physically very difficult. Even a 3-mile run would become excruciating, causing blisters on her arches. Knee and hip pain also became a problem.
Meghan sought out treatment at University Foot & Ankle Institute and she's glad she did. Following surgery on both feet, she calls the recovery "really easy", the pain "really nothing" and the overall results "amazing".
She reminds others that your weight is on your feet, so you need to be strong there!

how are you doing now? how long after surgery could you walk on it with little help from crutches?

@@boonip you can pretty walk on the crutches once the anesthesia wears off after surgery. The biggest issues are pain tolerance and monitoring swelling. I ended needing an additional surgery on April 26th so I’m currently back in a cast. Would still highly recommend the surgery

I had this surgery, combined with an Achilles lengthening and a Kidner's procedure to remove a very large accessory navicular bone all at once. I am on week 7 with a cast now. Getting the cast off in a few days and then it's into a boot and I'll be beginning weight bearing. I have severe atrophy in my leg muscles, and I doubt I'll be able to walk very well for several weeks, and then onto rehab. God knows how long this will take.

@@boonip awe well I’m praying that it’s mostly good days. I’m sorry not trying to vent to you but I’m so nervous about the surgery. I have to have a fusion and a coalition remove and this, and this part of the surgery scares me the most. I’m in pain everyday but I don’t wanna be in more pain than I was before.
