Some great songs came second, amazing how often the UK were in that position particularly in the earlier years but I must pick out Gigliola Cinquetti with the song SI for Italy in 74 and Mocedades with Eres Tu for Spain in 73.

"Looking High, High, High" makes me want to poke my own eyes out. But I do like most of the other British ones - particularly Mary Hopkin and Matt Monro. Kathy Kirby I find unaccountably a bit frightening though - anyone else feel the same? But "T'en va pas" FTW!!!!!!!!!111one

The best runner ups are : 1968, 1971,1973,1976, 1979 and 1980! 1978 is not worth to be No.2!!! And 1974 Gigliola Cinquetti was for me the Winner Song, i really love Abba - the best band ever, but i like "Si" a little bit more than "Waterloo"!

SPAIN 71......How isn´t possible Karina wasn´t the winner?? Does anyone notice the tremendous feeling being transmited through her....For not speaking spanish..please look for the lyrics....it has a historic value....Spain was, by the time, dreaming about "Un mundo nuevo" ("a new world")...because of the dictatorship Spain was suffering from.........
