My husband and I would play this song, every Friday night before we went out to our favorite beach bar. He died this week. The day after, I was standing in line at the Target pharmacy, waiting to pick up a prescription. This song came on. I don't remember ever hearing music in Target before. I think this was his way of contacting me. We were married 58 years.

My wife and I saw TPHB 7 times. Seven of the best evenings of our life together. She passed away last year. Watching these videos and remembering gives me great comfort.

Mike Campbell killed it! I like how he looks at his band mates after his solo, kinda like, “ok boys, put a bow on it, I’m good”. That was one of the most incredible solos ever. I’ve got it on “repeat” in my truck for my ride to and from work. Put a bow on it!

Also, how Tom lets the talent of his band mates get some light. Not only about him.

my husband had to get used to my eclectic taste in music, he has like a really limited amount of music that he likes , I like all, so when it came to rock he was not for it and I broke him with dream on and now this one he likes it I can tell because he doesn't tell me to lower it or change it and I blast it and do the air guitar on my way to work😆😆😆

Right after the solo wraps up, and he turns around and looks at Tom with that head nod like "Wow, we fucking nailed it"

Oct 2, 2017...RIP Tom my friend, joining that big band in the sky, will love you and miss you forever...I remember banging on my steering wheel when I first heard this Most Awesomest Song Ever, in the Food Lion parking lot, wishing I had a drum. My young daughter and I love you, your songs will live on forever, you are not gone, we have your songs. Shit, tears on my key board, Love you man

This is from the 30th-anniversary show and tour. It was recorded in Gainesville, Florida, Tom’s birthplace, and hometown. I was in about the 25th row on the floor. I was also two grades behind Tom at Gainesville High School. This is also my favorite-ever TPATH song!

Tom Petty was one of the greatest performers of all time. He is one of just a few musicians whose live concert music sounded just as good, if not better than his recorded studio music. And Mike Campbell is awesome !!!
